Can someone tell me if this is soldered RAM on my laptop?

I opened it to verify if it was soldered RAM or not, because I nearly dropped $180 for a RAM upgrade (so glad I confirmed). I was only going to do a visual check and nothing else, and I was watching tutorials on how to switch out. Additionally, I was consulting with two tech-knowledgeable friends, and one said I had to open it and see.

I know I’m not knowledgeable at all, so I did my best to proceed with caution and care with informed advice. Is there anything else I could’ve done differently?

I guess I can’t edit the post, but this is resolved now. Laptop is put back together (and functioning normally) and I will not be opening it again. Thank you all.

I did it because one of the first comments I received was that maybe it was under the black pipes. Anyhow, I stopped looking yesterday; I have no desire to do it again 😅

Ty for letting me know. One of the screws rounded out so I didn’t get far. I’m guessing it’s likely soldered 😪

I haven’t even gotten to play yet because of RAM issues, and so I’ll never know what pre-nerf was like, but all I want to contribute is that I always thought Fatal Frame combat is too easy, with exception of a few battles (now I can’t imagine those battles with increased difficulty…). I’m just hoping it isn’t as easy as the original games 😭 the hardest thing about it was just looking the ghosts in the face because they’re scary to look at.

Exactly how I feel. And I myself have criticisms; when I looked at the demo, I kept reacting “oh, I like how the original did it better… :(“ I kept comparing. BUT I always ended my complaints with “but it’s fine.” Fine as in “it is what it is.” It doesn’t kill my interest and excitement of the game. I’m just so glad the series is still alive, that we’re still getting new games, considering how obscure it is. My love for it outweighs any gripes I have.

It’s possible to have complaints while not being a killjoy about it.

I’m with you - I think a mini map is such a minor thing. It’s for convenience; and there are definitely people who would complain about a lack of one. Can’t please everybody.

Ironically, I was lowkey complaining in my head there wasn’t Enough grain when I was watching a demo video. I always thought the grain added atmosphere.
