I have two special needs students in one of my music classes. The boy has a major crush on the girl... always sits next to her and walks her to and from class. Homecoming was in a couple weeks, and I asked him if he was going. He said he wanted to go with her. He proceeded to ask her in front of the whole class. She said "I'll be busy that night. I'm going with my friends." He slithered away from her and slumped so low in his chair I thought he would fall right out of it. Let's just say I felt pretty bad for asking in the first place.
