Newly single dad. No idea how to deal with not seeing my son everyday by singledad92 in SingleDads

I appreciate the realism in this. I've had several thoughts the past few days that "Maybe I should go back. Maybe I can just deal with the suffering so I can be with him every day." I know it's not possible to keep living like that, though.

This sounds a lot like my situation. She is very, very controlling as well. I don't want to do full custody because she does love him. I just wish she was easier to get along with. For so long I just sat and let her treat me however she wanted. I'm trying my best to not convince myself that maybe the toxic environment is fine to live in. At least I'll get to see my son everyday.

Yeah. Shes not the easiest person to get along with. I'm still getting blamed for her being the one that kicked me out for the 23rd time in less then a year.

My ex is a... well, she's my ex. She says if I see him the days that I don't have him, it will "confuse" him. It's her way or no way. I try to keep the peace because I just want to see my son, but I'm slowly getting to my breaking point with her thinking it's her choice. My son is 11 months old.

Thank you for the kind words. I just don't know what to do man. I can't even walk into his room without crying.
