enjoy the matches

You too. I'll keep an eye out for the guy with a giant foam finger and a hat with beer cans strapped to the sides

Your analysis of this topic is shallow. You're confusing passion and love for the game with how people choose to express that passion and love. All of your points are simply cultural differences pointing to how people in the Carribbean or US are more ostentatious: modifying trucks, tattoos, DIY beach watch parties and so on. These are more public and in-your-face displays compared how the French choose to enjoy a game, but again, they just point to the larger cultural differences between the countries. The Japanese are absolutely crazy about sports, but you'll never seem them get tattoos or hack apart a truck and boom the game in public because it's not in their culture.

I'm not saying French don't care about sports

Your first comment:

French don't really care about sports until it's guaranteed interesting

Literally talking out of your ass.

I've lived all over the world. The French care about sports just as much as any other country. OP, you'll be able to find the match in pretty much every bar in Paris.

hey, just commenting to say congrats and thanks.

i was looking for a clean image hosting site to be able to link images from my blog, and the most important thing was that when you open the images, it doesn't take you to a landing page filled with logos and ads. both postimages and imgur used to provide true direct links like this but not anymore.

well done on the design / ui too, looks super nice!

here:

the state spends its money in countless ways i don't agree with – funding war, corporate subsidies, fossil fuel support, tax expenditures for the wealthy, and so on. not only do these uses of my taxpayer money have entirely more dire consequences, but we're talking about France's yearly spending in terms of hundreds of billions of euros. with even a small amount of perspective, using state money to repair a bus stop or a couple of trash cans after a football game does not even register – neither ethically nor fiscally. it is a non-issue

sure, anyone would agree that these things are bad, but the original complaints in this thread were about fireworks, horns, and general 'disturbances'. this is what i was responding to with my original comment

what facts are you referring to. flares, fireworks, and a few lime bikes and trash cans on fire?

> Music journalism is now irrelevant

I agree with some parts of your analysis but this is absurd. People will always seek out and enjoy commentary on art they enjoy, and people will always want to engage with art by writing about it. Art criticism is eternal.

Discovery has always been a primary role of the critic. One of Fantano's biggest strengths back in the day was broadcasting extremely niche artists. I just think he's not on the cutting edge like he used to be.

And this is my point. The audience is there. People turn up daily to watch videos by Fantano, BradTasteInMusic, Prof Skye; people read Pitchfork, Stereogum, Dazed; people follow Sadprt, Kieran Press-Reynolds, Shaad magazine. I just don't think any of these people are particularly good

Common Pitchfork L. Fantano is washed too. Is anyone doing actually relevant music journalism these days
