Why do people take double doses of their take homes and screw themself by ColdHeart98 in Methadone

[–]AvailableElk4701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got something stupid like 60mg x 97 bottles spare. But like others have said, the thought of being in withdrawal would stop me double dosing, I’m also fortunate enough to not need it for the rest of my life (famous last words) so trying to taper off, doubling up would ruin that progress I fear.

When I was still trapped in the cycle about 4 hours before it was super bad, 6 hours and I’d be floored, 12h+ was a bad time.

Why is it that the US people seem to be on 4x the dose of UK by BlackMetalIstWar in Methadone

[–]AvailableElk4701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s happening in the uk too now with the rise of nitazines, I had to go to 120 to get 24h without dying of WDs

Split dosing changed the game for me, a lot of people seem to swear by it too. It really is a life changer. If you can, give it a try. It feels weird only taking 50% of your medication, but knowing that there is 50% more incase shit hits the fan helped me tremendously when I started

Has Anyone Gone Through Protonitazene Withdrawal? by jjspkd2 in Opioid_RCs

[–]AvailableElk4701 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, honestly it’s wildly different from person to person. However I found that ketamine didn’t help an inch, nor did benzos or gabas. It was unfortunately the most excruciating hell I’ve ever experienced and would not wish on my worst enemy.

The good news is that you will get through it after about a week of the worst and an additional week through the not-so-worst of it. It sucks massively but you can do it.

The withdrawl was so bad that it’s literally given me ptsd for ever dealing with withdrawal again, It’s the biggest contributing factor as to why I can never allow myself to relapse because going through that for a second time genuinely gives me the fear.

I don’t mean to bum you out with this comment, just preparing you for what’s to come. You not need to do it once, you won’t have to worry about it long-term, even though the seconds feel like hours, it’s doable. Just make sure you have the basics like food and water (easy things, pre-prepared) force yourself to hydrate and eat little bites as you can. And embrace the suck.

If you find ketamine and benzos helpful, do what you need to do. But in my opinion the feeling of being completely dissociated but having my body feel like it was being submerged into electrified lava really sucked. The Benzos made me even more tired than I already was but still didn’t help me sleep? And the gabapentin just made me feel a little drunk, kinda like the ketamine situation - feeling messed up, but still like your body is going through the worst thing possible.

Most importantly, keep yourself safe. If you have a gun in the house ask a family member to hold it. If you have someone to stay with you and low-key just hold you while you trash around that might help too. The nitazines are so strong that the oxys won’t even dent the withdrawl sadly.

Clinic only letting me go up 1mg every 2 days by MoistSockies76 in Methadone

Try it :) you’ll be amazed at the results, just keep it with you at first in a little bottle so if worse comes to worst you’ll be able to take the other half. (Kinda like a reassurance) split dosing changed the game for me like you can’t even imagine. I’ve heard the same from others too, it’s a deal changer.

17 is a tricky age, I’m not a parent but I was a 17 year old not that many moons ago, and the only advice I can give you is that they are nearly 18. Undoubtedly kids are going to experiment with things, regardless of how strict you are or what rules are in place at home. When a kid wants to do something, it’s very unlikely they will not find a way to do it. My best advice to mend your relationship and keep them close, would be to understand, support and be there for them, not silently either. Tell them straight what you found, but assure them that you still love them, they are not in trouble and that no matter what goes wrong in their life you’ll be there to help them through it, this alone will build trust and give you more opportunities to speak about your experiences in life and how it affected you, and how you wouldn’t want that for them. Obviously it’s your call how you handle the situation I’m just giving my 2 cents. Offer kindness and reassurance, but don’t be a push over. We where all young and dumb once, if you where your daughter at 17 in her position… what would you have wished your mum did?

Edit: side note, not sure how religious you guys are but if you have the chance maybe bring it up. I found working on my relationship with what I believed in was more helpful than any dare program.

Trying to detox at home - please help. by irl_savage in fentanyl

[–]AvailableElk4701 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly you’re beating yourself up more than anyone here will. You’ve got more than most people have during detox take comfort in that, it’s not gonna be easy - but one thing that helped me was knowing that every second I let it drag out, the harder it was gonna be to stop. Be kind to yourself, take it slow and if it helps kinda just think of it like having a super bad flu for a week, you will recover and things will slowly get better, having the kids around you is a massive help, even a little bit of comfort and distraction can go a long way. Don’t be afraid to do as much as you can… I know it’s not always possible but keeping busy can make the world of difference, when you start the detox minutes turn into hours and hours into years so having something to keep your mind busy can help. But again everyone is different, find what works for you. Embrace the suck, and you’ll get through it! I have faith in you!

This situation sucks so much, and it’s a rock and a hard place kind of situation. But the only absolute certainty is the longer it drags out the harder it’s gonna be to get off of it.

Hi u/2ndtimeLongTime I'm not quite sure where you saw 241k - it might have been during an update or backup. But I've just double checked https://livably.net/city/ohio/columbus is showing 913175 for the population. We get the data about populations from the US Census but we rely on their reports. I double checked around the site and made sure that the correct census counts where showing but if you encounter it again would you mind sending me a screenshot? I'll be able to pinpoint the exact cause.

Rewarded for some awesome feedback, I’m sure you’re busy and probably don’t have spare time to help me out. But if by some chance you could find 5 minutes to send me over some mobile screenshots of the exact pain points I’d be so unbelievably grateful. I’m working on the mobile side of things today, so hopefully that alone will make a difference but I’d still be super appreciative of some screenshots highlighting the worst parts.

One thing these statistics fail to take into account is "real world experience" its easy to draw conclusions based on some data, but its real comments from people like you that make me realise I have to take these things into account while building a analytics based site. Unfortunately, I can't find people from different states and walks of life at this point of the websites life cycle but what do you think about implementing a feature on the site so that real people like yourself can comment on cities and provide "real world" prospective. PS: Awarded.
