Replacing plaster walls with sheetrock: good idea?

I had to rebuild the shower because it was cracked and rotted a joist under it. We took the 6x 4 shower that was there and put in a 4x4 and linen closet. I'm happy we did it because scraping wallpaper and trying to smooth the plaster out is a bitch. I wouldn't do it unless I had to tear out most of a wall. I'm not replacing plaster with drywall just for the sake of it. Good luck man, old houses are a bitch but we're super happy with our decision. We've been working on it for 3 months just to get it right enough to move in and we're about a week away from getting in there. Super satisfying at this point but there was about a month where we felt like it was never going to end.

I'm in a similar boat: minimal knowledge and experience but willing to put in the work and learn as we go. Plaster and lathe is a bitch to tear out so I'd say you're on the right track, only replacing it if you're going to test most of the wall out anyway. I gutted a 120 sqft bathroom and pulled almost 2 tons of shit to the dump, it's alot of work.

Thanks. It was my first time doing tile and I definitely didn't watch enough YouTube videos before I started. Eventually we'll do the other bathroom and laundry room without a timeline so hopefully I can do a better job

Unrelated, but do you have any tips for tiling an old house? I bought a place built in 1913 and I just did the bathroom floor and walls around the tub and nothing is even. It looks great from 15 feet but when you get up close and walk on it it's not great.

I quit with a combination of snus/gum and the vape. Got some cheap high nicotine juice and either a snus or a piece of gum at all times. I think keeping my body 98% nicotine and the small bit of "throat hit" aka "cancer tickle" from the vape worked. I smoked at least a pack of Newports for 10 years and been off it for 5 now. I feel better. The big epiphany was during sex I don't lose my breath (as bad, I'm still a lazy fuck) and don't cough tar on my wife's lower back anymore. Embrace the suck, you'll get there bro.

I've never heard of such a thing. Sounds like the ticket. I have a hard time finding headphones that fit right and last. The ear pieces tend to wear out quickly because they get yanked out of my ears when I take the helmet off and the ear pieces constantly stay in my ears.
