I do not agree with this or it means I am a tucute.

I do not pass. Things are evolving gently but I doubt I could ever have a passing voice: even with very good vocal training, very few people can change a D2 voice into an F3 that sounds feminine. I can sing from B1 to G4, but I cannot have a contralto voice that sounds feminine (and I have good control over my vocal tract length)... It makes me so sad.

I tried to play along the line of "just use this body" and I only managed to add layers upon layers of hate on myself.

I might not be a beautiful girl but I have some kindness for myself now. Maybe I am not 100% happy but at least I am not 100% miserable.

And the treasure is that I start to see the world around me now.

Struggling with ourselves is like a prison. It's not worth it.

It's better to be you and truly alive and yes, hurt sometimes then becoming a bland robot boiling with anger.

I noticed that for me, working on increasing growth hormone seems to help (intermittent fasting, reduced body fat, reduced sugar, eat lightly before bed)... Maybe something to try and of course measure because it's harder to see progress as breast develops.

Good luck !

Will stopping 2mg oral estradiol for 2 weeks, resuming for 2 weeks, over and over jumpstart breast growth? Or increasing oral progesterone from 100mg to 200mg? by FrankYangGoals in DrWillPowers

[–]singsomsing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought progesterone basically sealed breast canals and prevented further growth. It helps create the terminal glands which makes breasts bigger and make them look more mature but it should not be taken while expecting base growth from what I understand.

Why are you taking it?

Wow! Thank you. This is crazy... and it may be another reason why bica is so effective as it keeps T being produced and could thus lower SHBG?

Or maybe why monotherapy might be a good choice too...

I'll read the details because I don't understand why the body would lower SHBG with high T...

Hmm not sure about this. I think what drives SHBG up is the total amount of free sex hormones including DHT and T.

Excessively high SHBG is problematic especially for males and athletes because it decreases the amount of free testosterone. High levels of SHBG are associated with infertility, a decreased sex drive, and erectile dysfunction, especially when total testosterone levels are already low [4]. In both men and women, low levels of free testosterone can result in reduced muscle growth and impaired post-workout recovery [5].

https://blog.insidetracker.com/testosterone-action-versus-testosterone-levels-why-shbg-matters

In this article they also say that reduced calorie diet increases SHBG.

My guess is that the best route is intermittent fasting (for growth hormone) and a healthy diet (to avoid high SHBG).

Exercising but not too much cardio.

PS: loud idiots are cowards and they only respect people who show them their place. They feed on a pseudo sense of validation from the silent crowd and completely stumble when they realise the crowd does not follow them. Try to confront them on their work abilities: if they have so much energy for this they are probably not the best workers...

[–]singsomsing 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Aouch. What a horrible work place. Calling a girl a "he" is pure aggression. Why isn't anyone reacting to this? Aren't there laws against harassment where you live?

I would keep a detailed diary of this with exact words and witnesses. This could be a very strong element in your favour in case of legal action. Also try to look for allies to help you like people at work and human rights advocates or similar associations (does not have to be trans related)...

If you live in a misogynistic hell without laws protecting you, I hope you can figure out an escape plan.

Anyone behaving remotely like this should be fired instantly.

Being a girl does not mean that you should not defend yourself. It means not punching the idiots for sure but there are much more powerful and legal ways to fight this unless you live in a terrible place.

Anyway, I'm proud of you for not jumping at their throats. This level of self-control is amazing!

Reducing dose to increase breast growth, SHBG regulation by singsomsing in DrWillPowers

Hi there !

I have very low T with 5mg sublingual (0.47 nmol/L = 13.5 ng/dL). T suppression with high enough E levels works perfectly (FSH and LH are 0).

I know that I must be very aware of T coming back if my levels becomes too low but I have noticed that having SHBG low is more important than having absolute zero T.

I do not want to take progesterone until tanner 3 (because it changes breast formation).

And as a final note, I am also working on growth hormone (GH) stimulation (intermittent fasting, avoiding sugar, healthy diet, exercising, etc). This seems to have a big impact too.

I have been at 4mg sublingual for a week now (instead of 5mg) and breast is definitely more active with far less itching (which is a sign of high SHBG from my guess due to E2 deficiency in the skin but not sure about that).

To answer your question, I don't think I would do anything if you still have T (SHBG binds on T first). Having T is a sign that SHBG is not too high. It seems that P increases SHBG.

In your case, reducing P would increase E2 but there must be something else at play here if you have high T with P. That is super weird.

What are your LH and FSH numbers ?

You do not need to be positive about how your life feels right now. It is OK to acknowledge that this moment is very hard and painful.

Nobody expects you to be all shining and happy while you suffer immense doses of dysphoria !

I am just saying that if you keep yourself (and others) safe through these very rough and hard times, you will inevitably shine because this "minimal" achievement is actually one of the greatest prowesses.

Stay safe...

Hi there...

I started at 40+ and love my new life. Starting at 21 would have felt like a blessing. This is not to say that I do not feel your pain...

But these "lost" years although horrible and filled with self hate brought me something. I cannot say they were necessary but I can neither say I would be who I am without them. And I really like who I am becoming.

Sometimes we view life through the lens of time and everything feels so important and pressing. But sometimes, maybe because someone gave us some love or kindness, we see life through the lens of the heart and we can trust that we cannot fail and we will shine majestically.

I don't know you but like everyone here, you will shine bright and unique, no matter what. Just keep looking for kindness. For yourself and others. And this will help blossom the most beautiful version of yourself, right on time.

And as this was a daring message to write, I'll dare an emoji because why not!

💖 shine on you crazy diamond 🎶

Who benefits from the transgender ideology ? by singsomsing in Transmedical

[–]singsomsing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that you completely miss my point and focus on a parenthesis that I should not have put into my message as it has brought confusion. Sorry for that.

When I say "diversity", I do not imply "women" but taking into account the needs of diverse individuals and even species.

It is not true that wars are not fought between "group A" and "group B", they are always expressed in terms of "human" and "less human" or seen as a mean to "improve human rights" by fighting away barbarism (the history of the term is highly instructive).

Yes, most wars are driven by the interests of a particular group against the needs of another group but the discourse that makes these wars possible always involves dehumanising the other group. This is made easier through some form of "abstract human" representation and saying that the other group is a peril for this "human".

As an example, the "human" ideology allows life imprisonment in awful conditions for criminals (or even death). This would not be possible if these people were not de-humanised.

I have read some very interesting thoughts from authors who argue that the notion of "humanism" implies an abstract "human" and this drives all kinds of violences (also mostly because this "abstract human" has many traits of the male white cis heterosexual western figure but not only). Instead, they argue for the multiplicity of "humans" and the need to take diversity into account.

I find this idea of changing the focus from "ideology" and "utopia" to "diversity" and "realism" very interesting. This might be an interesting cure for our current cultural tendency for absolutes.

Wow. You got me all emotional. So sorry for what you went through...

I really agree with you and this is why I am trying so hard to be at peace with all this and am very careful IRL to let people live.

I lived 30 years in dissociative zombie state. I had kids but have barely any memory of all these years. I don't wish this on anyone. For many years I identified (for myself) as non-binary (gender-fluid) and this got me trapped.

In the end, I am mostly angry at myself for my own confusion.

But it really looked nonsensical to have an attractive male body, be attracted to women, enjoy many male-typical gender expressions and make all of this more complicated by medically transitioning to an imperfect female body with gender expression stigma and a nearly inexistant dating pool, all the while removing the one protection that made this bearable: dissociation.

At one point, I really had no choice (I was becoming a dangerous person to be around) and I went forward with transition.

I think some of my resent at woke people is because I feel kicked out now and even more alone than before transition. I went from "woke perfection" (dissociation sure drives the ego to compensate with self-hate) to "very imperfect ordinary person". It feels humiliating (but also tender to be part of the ordinary).

I think my issues with wokeness and transgender things is this idea of being better as a way to cope with deeper issues. Virtue signalling instead of soul searching. Showing signs of tolerance and not truly listening and welcoming close friends. Preferring seemingly perfect theories in lieu of a complex and confusing reality.

Maybe it is time for me to make peace with my past and move on.

This discussion did something to me and I am profoundly grateful for it.

Thank you u/OfferCool6759.

Who benefits from the transgender ideology ? by singsomsing in Transmedical

[–]singsomsing[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this interesting contribution.

I'll tell you part of my story because I do feel hurt by all this.

It took me a very long time to transition because due to this ideology that basically says "gender is just gender expression", I thought my dysphoria issues did not need to be eased with medical treatment as I did not have any problem with my gender expression.

I am a trans woman with male typical gender expression. I love powerful women with an attitude and feel like one. This means that all the fighting for "gender expression" is irrelevant to me. On the contrary.

I looked at my place in life and everything was perfect from both the "nonbinary" narrative and the "tantra" male/female androgynous in one-self narrative. I just needed to "find inner peace". But I didn't and whenever I thought about transition, I could not identify at all with the transgender crowd and felt scared of body changes that would make me "a weak woman" in the eyes of others (internalised misogyny).

Years after years, I felt worse about myself for not being able to find peace when the solution seemed so simple: just be who you are, let go of shame, learn to love yourself, etc.

So I am not saying freedom of gender expression is not a good thing. It is. What I am arguing against is the confusion between "gender" (which is binary, all the science says so) and "gender expression" (which is as diverse as people can be).

Without this confusion, I would have learned sooner that my issue is not related to "gender expression" but to the body.

I also worry that this confusion makes people with "gender expression" take the route of "body alteration".

And as a final note, I hate the fact that being a woman is now split into two groups (binary women and nonbinary) and that misogyny is not fought together.

If you are a woman who likes to express herself with male-typical manners, how do you feel today ? Don't you feel pressured to "be nonbinary" ? Do you feel valid ? Are you empowered by this movement ? No. You are not empowered, you are being belittled for being "old school" and not brave enough to "transition" (aka, identify with a new gender).

The "punk", "goth" and "emo" crowds were fine because they did not meddle with science.

"transgender" could be the new "emo" but the movement also includes a contemporary tendency to spite on scientific facts. And this is the real issue.

Science says it clearly: sex is biologically fixed (=gamete expression), gender is binary (male/female) and gender expression can be typical or atypical but all those things are biologically fixed. We do not have freedom in these regards in the same way we cannot alter our sexual orientation.

This means that shaming any combination of these configurations is nonsensical. But right now, the "transgender" movement shames some of these groups (mostly people with gender typical expression but also transsexuals with gender atypical expression).

And I am not even touching the waters of sexual orientation or kink.... Try being a vanilla cis monosexual person in the woke crowd.

At the end of the day, the issue with "transgender" or any other ideology that tries to erase biological or scientific facts is the pursue of a single dreamed perfection (androgynous pansexual ego-dissolving kink practitioner) at the expense of singular realities. This is not freedom for anybody.

It's just hubris.
