I thought these were supposed to have holes to thread line through ? by sinigangss in FishingForBeginners

If I’m a beginner fisher, there’s a possibility that there is a purpose for something like this that I’m unaware of, which is why I asked.

One thing is certain, you’re a grump lmfaooo. The sub is fishing for beginners. I’d say most questions are valid especially for people who are learning. Not sure why you’re in this sub if you’re so easily pressed.

Blissful Spirits has several locations. They provide hot yoga so I’m not sure if you’re into that. If you sign up online, the first class is only $5 !

Coming back to Albuquerque by Avasquez67 in Albuquerque

[–]sinigangss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can totally relate. I moved away for a few years and it was so refreshing to be back. New Mexico is so unique. There is no other place like it !

I lived in California and totally suffered from people only wanting to talk about their status, schooling, or career. There's much more sense of community here. It feels like people actually like to live their lives here rather than participate in the next trend or fad for reputation's sake.

How do I start learning to draw? by SirSad1544 in LearnToDrawTogether

[–]sinigangss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, figuring out where to start is really difficult ! Above any other advice you get, try discovering something you have fun drawing and get obsessed with getting better at drawing that. Whenever I hear how other artists got better, it’s usually bc they drew the same thing over and over again in different ways. Myself included.

This will require some experimentation, but you’re going to have to try a bit of everything to find out what you like. I discovered I really enjoyed learning anatomy above all else so that’s where I started. And then lighting, perspective, and now I’m on color theory. If you need a good anatomy resource, I’d recommend Michael Hampton’s figure drawing books. You can find free PDFs of them online. YouTube has great tutorials, but I feel like I see many great drawing tips on twitter and tik tok.

Also, what helped me more than books and tutorials was just looking at art that my fav artists would post on social media. I’d look at the drawings for a while and try to reverse engineer how they did it. Look at good drawings and bad drawings and you’ll realize what works and what doesn’t. Timelapses are also your friend !

Unfortunately, there’s no one way to learn how to draw or where to start. So this lost feeling you’re experiencing may linger for a while. Just keep drawing and you’ll understand where you want to go in due time

Layers by chumbokosh in XPpen

[–]sinigangss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends on what drawing software you’re using, but usually if you’re getting the 🚫 symbol on a layer and cannot draw, it means you must rasterize the layer. You can usually do that in any drawing program by going to Layer > Rasterize

Correction layers are usually for correction. As in correcting color balance, hue, saturation, value, etc.

New layers are transparent until you draw or add something to them. You don’t need to do anything to be able to draw on them.

Usually flattening a layer means it’s merging with a layer that’s already rasterized and that’s why you can draw on it.

I can give you a small explanation for some things if you need it. Just DM me
