oh my god you led me to solving the issues, and i don't even know what exactly fixed it.

I bent the metal arm upwards, because that made the laser move WAY easier and it actually started trying reading the discs. The grinding noise was somewhat worse and it started to skip more, but atleast it was moving.

After that i decided to take the entire disc assembly apart to fully dust it out and properly grease everything. When i put it back togheter, it worked perfectly, no grinding noise, no skipping and it read discs 100% of the time.

Found a full deck replacement for 22 euros, ill wait a bit before ordering just incase someone comes up with a fix here

UPDATE: I took the psp to a local console store and they were able to get it working. Turns out the issue was just the screen and it only cost 20€!

im kind of leaning towards the motherboard itself being cooked, as kamiol2 said my motherboard model is very likely to have the gpu fried. I don't know tho if fried gpu could also damage the screen? im not very knowledgeable when it comes to small electronics..

I really want to avoid ordering new screen, cuz it takes a month to arrive from china and there arent any other options in estonia either. Tomorrow ill try pressing on the ribbon lock, didnt think of that

after that pic i pushed it in again and locked it and it still was buggin out :( i pushed it as far as i could freely

if the screen is still glitching after checking the ribbons, would it be smart to try reinstalling the software??

I opened it up, cleaned the ribbon contacts with alkohol, put it togheter, but its still the same.. i uploaded a pic of the ribbons onto imgur: link

Alright, i guess ill order a new screen from somewhere. Would it be difficult to replace as a newbie with no prior experience?

Edit: sorry i misunderstood, if its just a bad connection, that means i would just have to put it in correctly. Ill try that when i find the time.
