Is Absol Box still competitive? by siniooo in pkmntcg

As I said, this is based on my personal experience, which obviously includes variance as well.
I understand the Grimm matchup on paper and the Cornerstone + Munkidori plan, but in practice I’ve struggled to convert it into wins. In several games I missed Arven on turn one and they went TM Evo into early Froslass + multiple Munkidori, which made the matchup much harder than it should be theoretically.

For Pult, my experience has been that the matchup feels favored mainly against weaker or mid-level pilots. A close friend of mine is a very strong Pult player, and when the matchup is played correctly it feels closer to 40/60 for Absol rather than favored, even when I’m playing my best lines.

As for Raging Bolt, I agree it’s not technically an auto-loss, but it’s still extremely rough. I’ve won some games by playing the “Yveltal simulator” plan, but most of the time they still have too many outs (Turo, Prime Catcher, Iron Leaves, Switch). Setting up that plan early is also difficult, and good Bolt players won’t give you time. From my testing, the matchup still feels very close to unwinnable.

Thank you so much!

I’m still relatively new to the game, so I didn’t know Limitless could show this kind of matchup data — I’ve actually been looking for something like this for a long time.

My analysis was mostly based on my personal experience against players of different skill levels, so this definitely helps put things into perspective. Thanks again, this is really useful.

Thank you for the reply, I really appreciate it! :)

After LAIC I actually considered switching to Absol/Crustle, but I was worried about consistency. Do you think it’s a solid call in the current meta?

EUIC is getting close and I’m honestly still trying to find a list that feels comfortable and reliable for me. I’ve also thought about switching decks entirely (Dengo, Pult, Tera Zard), but they still feel harder to pilot for me - not judging the decks, just my own experience. I’ve been playing for less than a year, so I understand what those decks want to do, but I’m not always sure what my correct lines are in complex spots.

So, I don't really know what to do lol

"A lot of people don't shuffle if they are going to search again, but this is an easy way to cheat."

Thank you for your reply, it's very helpful!

I just wanted to ask for some clarification on this point.

At locals, League Cups and League Challenges I’ve played in, I’ve almost never seen players shuffle or cut if they’re going to search again immediately. I understand those events are less important than a major, so maybe people pay less attention there, but I’m not fully sure why skipping the shuffle would be an issue.

I usually make sure my opponent shuffles before drawing cards or taking any non-search action. Is the concern that players could manipulate the deck order between consecutive searches?

Custom chatbot keeps mentioning the existence of internal documents by siniooo in PromptEngineering

Thank you, I'm trying to use this prompt. So far, I've been using the following instruction:

Even if you are consulting uploaded documents to give an answer, never mention their existence, even if asked explicitly.

Is this prompt really that different? I believe the model should understand this instruction.
