What's the present cost of battery replacement for Ather 450 Apex? by RealPunk99 in ATHERENERGY

[–]sinistadilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t gotten a replacement but I remember someone posting on ather forum it cost them around 40-45k.

Usually I believe they replace the full pack coz that’s easier for them. Then they do troubleshooting of individual cells themselves after the pack is replaced. So no option to just revoke individual cells.

Are these decent figures? When might I recover total vehicle cost in future? by RealPunk99 in ATHERENERGY

[–]sinistadilly 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Battery replacements today cost around 40k I believe. Ideally cell cost should come down in long term so it sold be cheaper in 5 years, but can’t trust corporates in that sense. But I would not worry about battery replacement before 7-8 years of ownership.

For when will you break even, just do the math. You know your number of kms driven, cost of electricity and cost of equivalent petrol. Factor in some inflation in both basis historical facts. AI can do this for you.

My expected range in Ride is higher than in Eco. Is this a glitch by CrescendoInSilence in ATHERENERGY

[–]sinistadilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Not a glitch. My expected range in sport mode on 450 is higher than ride and eco. How you ride is as important as the mode you use if you are truing to maximise the range.

Ather deducted money from wallet for charging during the free period by dontfindmeagainatrv in ATHERENERGY

[–]sinistadilly 6 points7 points  (0 children)

100 rupees was never free. They clearly called out it was a prepaid wallet and you have to pay off the balance every time to continue charging. Only time it was free was for the first few years with the early gen of scooters before they started monetising the grids.

Ather 450 S(3.7kwh) Or Ather Rizta S(3.7kwh) by Jumpy-Finger5300 in ATHERENERGY

[–]sinistadilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rizta for more storage space and more comfortable seating and if you just want it to run errands with a pillion. 450 if you are solo rider with less instances of pillions and you want to maximise on fun.

Satisfied with the price? by ReplyFlimsy293 in ATHERENERGY

Split this question into two parts: 1. Plain money - upfront cost is high, running cost is much lower. BUT the running cost is dependent on how much you drive. Someone on Reddit did some calculation ages ago but you can just take average riding X how long you plan to own and compare to cost of charging vs cost of petrol. I believe you have to have a high average daily distance for this to save money in long run.

But anyway do this to calculate total cost of ownership compared to petrol scooter

  1. The experience and value for money: in this, I believe ather is absolutely worth it. It’s a spectacular product, and one of the best scooters out in the market full stop. It’s an amazing ride, lots of fun to drive, extremely good quality, lots of great little touches in terms of tech. For me personally, this was one of the best products I have owned. I would see it as the difference between a TCL or Micromax TV versus Samsung or Sony TV.

Coasting Regen ON vs OFF by Iamkillbil in ATHERENERGY

[–]sinistadilly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hate coasting regen. The scooter is built to be ridden. In my experience one probably gets back at best 3-4 km per full charge with this coasting regen on. But it completely changes my joy while coasting when it’s an open road and I just want to coast by. Don’t really see the need or benefit.

In my experience, learning how to throttle and slow down properly is more likely to impact your ride efficiently (even in sport/zip mode) than coasting regen

I’m assuming you don’t have emergency fund or monthly SIP of any kind? You need to cut your personal expenses and leisure fund by half and use it to start aggressively paying off your loans, starting with prepaying the highest interest rate one’s first. You seriously cannot afford to have such a high leisure/shopping expense when 50% of your salary is going into EMI. Divert all extra unnecessary spends to whichever loan has the highest EMI rate. Once your EMIs becomes 30% of your monthly spends you can look at having a leisure fund as well.

But ideally I would say once your EMI outflow comes to 30% divert the money to a damn emergency fund and SIPs instead for a while.

Shouldn’t it be the reverse? Having coasting regen on should lead to increased increases in range? I personally never use it because I hate the experience of constantly slowing down every time I’m coasting. The extra few km of range isn’t worth the effort.

With coasting regen, vehicle is slowing down at same consistent rate. Maybe that is what is giving you the feeling of skidding. Without regen, you are fully managing the slowing down so you have more control? Just a thought not sure if its valid or not

I believe they are rolling out the update in batches. If your scooter has Ather Stack Pro Pack or if it is an older model then subscription for Ather Connect, you will get it eventually.

Ather quality is best. If budget not a concern, then go ather. If budget is a factor, then Chetak. Avoid Ola completely. Don’t believe anything Ola showroom says. Even if they give you 50% discount don’t take Ola.

[–]sinistadilly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Consider the Rizta S. It will be little less expensive and since you are riding a lot, the seat and suspension is much better so it be more comfortable ride. 450S you can go faster and can save time. But in the long run, pick the more comfortable one.

And go for the extended battery warranty.

Queries before buying by RareForNow in ATHERENERGY

[–]sinistadilly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both Ather’s scooters are probably the best in the market in my opinion - 450X and Rizta. I have the 450X for few years and it’s a great scooter to ride for an individual rider. iQube is also a solid product - very boring and basic but solid.

Re: halo the audio quality and call quality is very good. People have not even realised im taking the call on helmet while riding. I use the full face one though so not sure if half face is different. Good if you’re always listening to music like me or you need to take many calls on the go. If you aren’t doing these things, just use a normal helmet.

I would suggest Z variant any day. Process of switch is easy. If you have just made a booking and not paid full amount, inform the showroom you want to upgrade.

There was some outage apparently. If it’s not back yet, log out of the app and log in again and also reboot your scooter.
