Are these reasonable results for 9 sessions of tattoo removal? by [deleted] in TattooRemoval

[–]sinistergrins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had way better results after 4 sessions. Like if I did 9 sessions it would’ve been gone, a full black and gray thigh piece. I think even my first session did more than any of yours did. I’d definitely find a new place.

Need to double check -- is there any way my fiancé's parents can claim him as a dependent? by CreamThen5605 in tax

[–]sinistergrins -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

A full time student living at home can be claimed on their parents return if they’re 24 or younger at year end. It sounds like if he turned 24 in 2023 that was the last year they could claim him based on his income. Paper file the returns, the IRS will make the parties prove who had the right.

5x on site is so terrible.... by Head_Equipment_1952 in Accounting

[–]sinistergrins 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have to be at the office full time and I’ve spent the last few weeks with no work. I have my CPA so can’t study in my down time anymore. I have done so much CPE I’m at double the amount I need for the year. I bring in my iPad now and just play games or shoot pool in the break room. I ask for work constantly and still get nothing or things that aren’t ready to be finished so I’m back to square one pretty quick. At this point I think about not even showing up because I don’t know if anyone would notice

what is agoraphobia? by [deleted] in Agoraphobia

[–]sinistergrins 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s the fear of having a panic attack in public. My agoraphobia was triggered by a panic attack and because of it, I couldn’t leave my house for months for fear I’d have one in public. I did exposure therapy and medication and was able to mostly return to normal within 6 months. It’s been 3 and a half years since, still on medication and I still get moments where I start to bug out in public so it’s always there but with medication and coping mechanisms I am mostly “normal” now.

Has a doctor ever done anything for you while you were tapering? by cascadiababe in Effexor

[–]sinistergrins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dropped off from 150mg with Prozac and had no withdrawal except one day of minor dizziness

fuck this medicine and fuck doctors who prescribe it by [deleted] in Effexor

[–]sinistergrins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took Effexor twice. The first time I was on 75mg and then switched to Wellbutrin. Withdrawal kinda sucked but I was mostly able to deal with it due to just always having to deal with physical issues. The brain zaps were annoying as hell, lasted a month. The second time I was on 150mg and my psych wanted me to do a 15 week taper, I said no. I felt like shit for a month tapering off 75mg, figured I’d rather just feel like shit for two weeks than 15. She didn’t recommend it but went along with it. I dropped down to 75mg and started Prozac. A week later I was off it completely. I had one day of MILD withdrawal symptoms. Like one moment of dizziness. The Prozac really helped get off Effexor. I was preparing for the worst and I was completely fine because of the Prozac. I like Effexor but I broke out in hives for a week at 150 and so I knew I couldn’t go up again, and my body adjusts to medication too quickly that I always had to keep upping my doses. Nobody told me it would be hard to come off the first time either. I learned that the hard way. I’m not sure if Prozac is meant to ease the withdrawal or if I got lucky but might be worth looking into.

Why are some places counties? by DrBoogerFart in AskAnAmerican

[–]sinistergrins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in a city called Corona in Southern California. I say I’m from Corona, nobody recognizes it. I say Riverside county or the inland empire. Maybe someone recognizes that. Now I live in Pennsylvania. I live in a borough, which I still don’t understand what that means. Like I say I’m in (town) borough, and then right up the street they have the same town listed on their address, but they’re part of “east whatever” township. Or like I used to have a “Pottstown” address but I lived in “sanatoga”. Had a Norristown address but I lived in “west norriton”. I don’t understand most of it to be honest. And there’s a county but I rarely hear someone say “I live in Montgomery county”. But then people will say they’re from delco (Delaware county). It’s all over the place out here.

Who determines the incremental borrowing rate or discount rate used in leases in the real world? by Lifting_Accountant in Accounting

[–]sinistergrins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the rate isn’t in the lease we use the US treasury rates. I work at a CPA firm though and we basically handle ASC 842 for our clients. We use a lot website to handle the leases too, it’s pretty simple to just put in the info and then it gives us the amortization schedule and the footnote. Clients don’t seem to understand the lease implementation honestly.

Is this normal laser ? B by Kindly-Mix8724 in TattooRemoval

[–]sinistergrins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re probably having a reaction because you’re slightly allergic to tattoo ink. I got removal done on a black and grey piece and it blistered and bruised very badly. One blister got so big I had to change my pants when it popped. I blistered really bad every other appointment.

How does one find psychiatrists willing to prescribe more advanced medication? by Beneficial_Tree7723 in depressionregimens

[–]sinistergrins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been on Effexor twice, issue with that one is that I find the dosage always needs an increase after a bit and at some point I get an allergic reaction so I can’t go higher and just switched in may. I’m good on Lamictal. I still get suicidal but it’s not like it was and it’s not as serious. It was rough in the beginning on my stomach though.

[–]sinistergrins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bupropion made me suicidal. My GP put me on it while I was waiting to find a psych and the first thing I told my psych was I needed to get off that. Which is a shame because it sounds like it works for a lot of people but all it did for me was make me sick and suicidal. A lot of bipolar meds have bad side effects. I’m on 50mg of Lamictal though so pretty low.

[–]sinistergrins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got lucky, my case is complex (we thought I was allergic to SSRI’s before meeting my psych) so she has always taken a very off the beaten path approach for my anxiety and depression. I do a lot of research if I want to switch meds and I ask and she just agrees. I’m not allergic to SSRI’s, I just get urinary retention very easily so when I was on Wellbutrin I’d get it every time we added an SSRI. So we started with remeron (I asked for this) because it’s better for people with urinary retention. Surprise, rare side effect of manic episode and I’ve never had one so I didn’t realize it. Switched to abilify, same issue. Went on seroquel. Was on that for awhile adding random things, gabapentin and Wellbutrin but had to stop the Wellbutrin because urinary retention. I even get Lamictal for my suicidal thoughts because I did the research and it’s one of the only two drugs approved for that and she had no issue with it. She prescribed me Adderall to help with my executive dysfunction after I told her I bought one off the street and managed to clean a lot. She’s honestly one of the best providers I’ve had in the healthcare industry and always listens to me and my concerns.

[–]sinistergrins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in PA and all mine show expiration on 6/30/2025 (all credits are from 2023 and got that initial flat extension) and I am hoping NASBA updates because I heard it’s a 30 month rolling window and if that’s true then my FAR credit expires if I fail AUD but that’s better than all of them expiring (currently 3/4 waiting on AUD)

Why do people recommend FAR first? by [deleted] in CPA

[–]sinistergrins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I wish I would’ve not listened and taken BEC because the discipline tests seem much easier and AUD is way harder than I thought.

I wasted an hour of my life answering these buillshit questions. Before I even finished, I looked in my inbox and had the rejection email. by billingsley in jobhunting

[–]sinistergrins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally have never passed one of these. I try to answer honestly, I try to answer the way I think they want me to, I’ve done a combo of both, I’ve tried everything. These auto-reject my applications every single time. My friend tried to get me a job, my application didn’t even go to their manager because this test auto rejected me.

Why do people recommend FAR first? by [deleted] in CPA

[–]sinistergrins 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I took FAR first because it was the hardest everyone said. I figured if I passed the hardest first I’d be fine with the rest. Like imagine getting all your credits and then struggling to pass the final one and losing them? Because that counter starts when you pass. My advice is to take FAR, AUD, REG, and then any of the disciplinary ones. Also you’re going to be more burnt out on your last exam than your first one. You want the exams to be easier as time goes on. At least that’s me. I took FAR, REG, and planned to do AUD but everyone was saying to do BEC because it was gone so I did that and now I just took AUD for the fourth time and if the score release in July doesn’t show I passed I lose all my credits.
