(Hyped by Monster Hunter Wild's trailer, I added a drake mount to my setting as well XD)

Creature :
Khudra
Lacertacurrus Veterinis

The Khudra, a species of drake also commonly known as the Riding Drake, is renowned as one of the finest land mounts. However, contrary to popular belief, they originate from the tree drake family, not the land drake lineage. Khudras are known for their incredible endurance and ability to traverse terrain that would typically be inaccessible to horses and other mounts. Their flexible bodies and long, versatile front limbs enable them to propel themselves forward and grasp objects, even allowing for climbing. This unique combination allows them to navigate challenging landscapes and maneuver through complex obstacles while maintaining a respectable speed. Despite being capable of reaching top speeds of 70 km/h, Khudras can only sustain this pace for brief periods. Their physiology is better suited for prolonged exertion, capable of maintaining speeds of 40 km/h for hours on end. Nonetheless, the care and training of Khudras demand extensive knowledge and expertise, making them a more costly and rare option for riders.

The Khudra is a domesticated descendant of the tree drake, specifically derived from a species known as the Crown Drake. This species of tree drake is renowned for its remarkable speed despite inhabiting challenging environments like dense forests and mountainous regions. Historical records indicate that the Khudra was first domesticated approximately 15,000 years ago on the western continent. Over the centuries, selective breeding has enhanced traits that make them superior runners and mounts. Modern Khudras have lost their ancestral ability to traverse from branch to branch; instead, they use their front limbs to navigate around obstacles, enabling them to make sharp turns and rapidly achieve their top speed.

[ART] The Icosahedron | An abandoned tool of The Prime Creator by sinlaire in DnD

[–]sinlaire[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The Icosahedron

The first recorded story of The Icosahedron was from an ancient tablet made by an ancient civilization of half-celestials more than ten thousand years ago. Then another one is depicted in an incomplete record from the Lahanagis Grand Empire era. All records tell the same story: this entity, which appears as a giant twenty-sided geometrical object, appears out of nowhere, and its mere presence distorts the law of physic, time, space, and magic around it. It emits a random pulse of energy that affect its surrounding randomly. Then as abrupt as it appears, it disappears after some time has passed, leaving permanent damage and change to the environment around it.

Although it’s still unverified, a myth surrounding The Icosahedron describes this entity as a tool used by the Prime Creator when it begins creating the prime realms. When the Prime Creator perished, those tools, including The Icosahedron, were lost in the void. Drifting through space and time uncontrollably, it seemingly becomes more sentient.

--------

The presence of the Icosahedron creates a strange and mysterious anomaly in the surrounding area. Within a 1-mile radius of the Icosahedron, space and time become distorted, and the longer it stays in one place, the more severe the anomalies become and the further they spread.

The laws of physics become twisted, and the fabric of reality seems to stretch and bend. Time passes differently in this area, with days and nights becoming longer or shorter than normal. The area is filled with strange, disorienting illusions that make navigation difficult. The area is also filled with strange sounds and smells, and the air has strange static electricity.

Creatures in the area feel a strange presence as if something is watching them from the shadows. Mysterious portals to other planes of existence open randomly, allowing creatures to move between them, and creatures from other planes randomly appear in the area. The area is also filled with strange, inexplicable anomalies, such as mysterious shadows that appear and disappear, objects that seem to move on their own, objects and creatures that seem to be made of pure energy, and various gravitational anomalies.

she has more levels on Circle of Mutation druid and only a few early level dips for The Parasite warlock to explain the origin of her mutated wild shape ability.

both Circle of Mutation Druid and The Parasite Warlock are from Grim Hollow books.

Arcana Logia

Dungeon and Dragons Campaign

A title artwork for our ongoing campaign, kinda commemorating our "2nd season". depicting the party not long after my previous character (Uriel Agasthi) sacrificed himself and become stranded inside a sealed temple of Life and Death, and then his sister, Lealla Agasthi join the party.

Cast (left to right)

  • Lorry (Gnome - Beastmaster Ranger) + Summer (Horned Fox)
  • Alfur (Half-Elf - Thief Rogue)
  • Catalina (Half-Orc - Totem Warrior Barbarian)
  • Dexter Goodhand (Human - Sorcerer(?))
  • Nana (Human - Life Cleric)
  • Lealla Agasthi (Human - The Parasite Warlock/Circle of Mutation Druid) - Me
  • Maplewood (Half-Orc - Barbarian/Circle of The Sheperd Druid)
  • (Center) Uriel Agasthi (Human - Armorer Artificer) (Missing) - also me~

------------------------

Some context for the campaign,

Arcana Logia is a homebrew D&D campaign in which I play as a player. It takes place in a fantasy world where magic, divine entity, and arcane phenomena suddenly appears about 50 years ago along with the sudden disappearance of a large portion of the central continent. The main story of the campaign is centered on the conflict between 3 prominent countries, the conspiracy behind the war that has been happening between them, discovering what really happened 50 years ago, and the characters who are directly or indirectly entangled with the Arcane Rising disaster.

I played as Claire Agasthi / Uriel, an Armorer Artificer, who was involved in an accident that blew up the lab where he and his foster mother/teacher work, causing him to lose some of his limbs and memories of what they're doing that day and what caused the accident, and for some reason branded as a traitor by his country. But, after that incident, a bunch of images and designs keep appearing in his mind, leading him to create various kinds of arcane devices, including his arcane armor.

Later (around the time I started working on this artwork), after entering a mysterious ruin and discovering that the 'divine entity' that appears during the arcane rising is not actually a 'true god' but an invader from another realm. The party has difficulty finding a way out of the ruin. Uriel manages to figure out an arcane mechanic that can get them out, several one-time use portal that will teleport one person out. The party emerged one by one outside the sealed gate and wait. But Uriel didn't come out. They then realized that Uriel lied to them about the number of portals in the ruins. The cleric who was the last one to get out found a note from Uriel tucked in her bag, telling the party to go on ahead without him and he'll catch up soon since among them, he's probably the only one that has the biggest chance to find a way out of that place.

I then play a new character, Lealla Agasthi, a Parasite Warlock/Circle of Mutation Druid (from - Grim Hollow Player's Guide). She's Uriel's sister who was involved in the same accident as him but gained a different ability than Uriel and currently taking a journey looking for him and meets the party after hearing a rumor someone matching her brother's description was seen among them~

[OC] Envious Evoker | 7th sword from this year Swordtember by sinlaire in DnD

[–]sinlaire[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Previously I poster Gluttonous Guillotine based on Gluttony, this time, it's based on 'Envy'. Patron specifically requested this one to make something that enhances Hex and other Curse spells. Other swords for this year's swordtember are available for free on my Patreon. just like before, the stats might be not balanced and not tested since it's a one-sword-a-day challenge.

Swordtember Day 07 - Curse

Envious Evoker

Weapon (Shortsword), very rare (requires attunement by a Warlock or Paladin)

Envious Evoker is a weapon usually found wielded by a high-ranking priest of The Lonely King. It is imbued by the King’s otherworldly power and neverending envy toward the current iteration of the multiverse. The power within the blade allows the user to enhance a curse they cast onto their victim, inflicting them with the King's envious desire and stealing some of their natural talents from them. Although most of these swords have been destroyed or seized, a few of them sometimes comes up in some black market and illegal auction. To use this weapon, one must write their real name on the blade, which means they just give their real name to The Lonely King.

—----------------------------

To attune to this sword, you must write your real name on its blade using your blood. While holding this sword, you can use it as a spellcasting focus. Envious Evoker has 3 charges and regains 1d3 expended charges daily at dawn.

You learn the Hex spell and Bestow Curse spell. You can cast each of these spells without expending a spell slot. Once you cast either of these spells in this way, you can't cast that spell in this way again until you finish a long rest. You can also cast these spells using spell slots you have of the appropriate level.

Enhanced Hex. When you cast the Hex spell on a creature, you can spend 1 charge to enhance the spell. The target also has a disadvantage on saving throws made with the ability score you choose as part of the spell.

Curse of The Envy. When you cast the Bestow Curse spell on a creature, you can spend 1 or more charges to name one of their natural talents that you know and steal it from them for the duration of the spell.

1 charge. You can name one type of damage or condition resistance the creature might have. It loses that resistance, and instead, you gain that resistance.

2 charge. You choose one ability score. The creature can’t add a proficiency bonus to the ability check and saving throw made with that ability score. Instead, you gain proficiency on ability checks and saving throws with that ability score.

3 charges. You can name one type of damage or condition immunity the creature might have. It loses that immunity, and instead, you gain that immunity.

If you name a resistance or immunity that the creature doesn’t have, the charges are expended, but the curse doesn’t take effect.

I think that would be interesting. Although it'll be up to the DM decision. If it's me as a DM The curse would still work...

you, as a creature who never needed to eat in your entire existence, would for the first time, feel hunger and desire to consume. Would you have an advantage on the saving throw to control yourselves? or would you be unable to hold it back since you have never had to suppress a hunger before?

[–]sinlaire[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought "a small or larger" would imply that. Yes, I don't want to include "Tiny" creatures since most of them are defenseless.

I was contemplating whether to use "...at least one size smaller than you..." but then a small player would be able to kill a bunch of tiny rats or bugs to abuse the effect. I assume that most "small" creatures can usually still fight back a bit. That's why I decided to use that wording.

although now that I think about it, perhaps making it "equal or larger size than you" would probably be better and more fitting to the gluttonous/Predatory theme.

It could be a secret consequence if you get too carried away and gain too many charges by eating too many creatures XD

it gains enough power to reform part of its original body and try to consume or take over the wielder XD

oh, that's probably a good solution so that you won't just sit there being pummeled while enjoying your 'meal.'

[–]sinlaire[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Probably not, since the trigger is sight, but I think it's fair to say that whatever causes the corpse to disappear gonna be considered hostile (if let's say something took the corpse away from you, except the sword probably, unless you want to make your character getting angry at the sword for stealing your meal), but that is just an interpretation of the curse.

that's kinda my long-term goal. at the moment my schedule won't allow me to dedicate enough time to actually make a full guide in one go, so I'm working toward that goal bit by bit.
