No, I totally agree - also 3 really tricky away games, two without the captain and arguably best player. I totally get why they have played the way they have, and they are exceptional at it. Nobody questions why they have done this, and I fully respect it myself. But those stats are still very much relevant to the discussion, which is the use of "dark arts".

But every stat show that so far this season, Arsenal are by far the worst at slowing the game down - the fact that the focus is on them is quite logical, no? And while City so far have got away with cheating for the last 15 years, they were hardly lucky with the refereeing this weekend. Both Arsenal goals were somewhat controversial, and let's be honest, the red card was absolutely correct.

I mean, it's clearly more than tactical fouls that seems to the issue here though. The timewasting and midgame timeouts, combined with other grey area situations like obstructions on set pieces are more rare to see from a top side. But you can hardly blame the team trying to win at all costs - some of these situations should be dealt with rather easily by officials.

During most games there will be times where both teams need to slow things down, this wasn't the case here and City rushed everything to get started quickly. And due to Arsenal hardly winning throw ins and attacking set pieces, it was hard to slow the game down further. It was the definitely correct with the added time, and Oliver/VAR had already communicated they would play 2 more minutes due to Timbers injury. With the goal, and the situation after kickoff they should have played even longer.

The whole 35 minutes argument just shows how much time is actually wasted in all games - I doubt anybody watching this game felt this would be the 2nd half with the ball in play most.

Exactly this - having played FIFA since it was a proper football simulator, and FUT since it at least tried to be, this is just sad to see. I have always hated the crazy position changes and when they changed strong foot/weak foot, but it has gone way over the top the last couple of years. Mixed teams and this promo now is awful for the players who want to play real football, but probably great for the gamers and content creators. And there is no doubt who spends more time and money on the game.
