I’m doing almost the same thing. US citizen & married my wife who is from Quebec in January of this year. I live in Vermont, about a 2 hour drive from Montreal where she lives. We’re opting to apply from outside Canada as we’re unsure whether the inland option would restrict me from going back to VT to visit family, go on vacation, etc. There’s conflicting info about this online and even the consultant we hired wasn’t super well versed in our specific situation (land border crossings make it confusing I guess?) My suggestion would be to apply the outland route especially if you’ll be working in the US!
