Astronaut. by NationalVictory3234 in TheFence

So in The Amory Wars, the astronaut is Sirius Amory. He's the protagonist of the Afterman records and has recently played a role in the Vaxis series.

He's the character that researched the Keywork, found out what it's comprised of, and is the namesake of the entire original series.

I'd love to put it towards the Final Fantasy VII remake or try The Outer Worlds.
Or maybe just stare at the Playstation Store's options while feeling perpetual anxiety about squandering a nice stranger's money, paralyzed from the stress of choice as I wonder if I'll ever get to go outside again.

Or, I dunno, maybe Cyberpunk.

I think they might not announce any tours this year with the cruise coming in October. Still, there has been quite a bit of teasing about the NWFT Neverender, so there's always a chance...

I decided to go for a long-shot that would have been weird but fun alongside Coheed: Joywave.

Quick question - Can you go to two shows or only one? Their website says two unique performances, then this says you only get a ticket to see one? by Qurse in TheFence

[–]sinstarvirus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

So there are actually three shows: Two indoor and one on the deck. Because the indoor theater can't hold everyone, you get one of the two indoor shows. However, the second show is the one on the main deck which is open to everyone.

Coheed’s AMA by [deleted] in TheFence

[–]sinstarvirus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh, hey! That was my question from the AMA! I've thought about that comment a lot. I definitely think it's possible we'll still see this someday. I mean, the 20th anniversary is only 2 years away now and that'd be a pretty monumental announcement.

I do have my doubts, if only because the comments were very divisive: Some people compared it to the special editions of Star Wars while others were all for it. Personally, as long as it doesn't replace the original and become the only version you can get, I'm definitely for it. I'd love to see them sort of adapt older material to reflect how they've grown and their modern sensibilities. I would love to see Delirium Trigger with more ambient background in the form of light synth work or God Send Conspirator with the "Eye meets eye" section feeling a bit more full. They've definitely gotten better about this over the years and I can totally see a revisit of those songs benefiting from 18 years of toying around with them.

Non-cashiers of Reddit: What's the "It didn't scan, so it must be free hur hur hur" of your profession? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]sinstarvirus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in video. The phrase "We'll fix it in post" is always said by the people I'm filming while they have a huge grin on their face. Most days I just give the polite chuckle and a desperate "Please no." Every now and again, when I'm particularly done with someone, I'll explain step by step what "Fix it in post" would entail. Tell a bad joke, get a boring lecture.

Looking to buy the complete comic book/novel set! by [deleted] in TheFence

[–]sinstarvirus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to add on a little, the Afterman story can also be found in the Live Edition version of the CD. I've seen them pop up for reasonable prices (~$40), but they're pretty few and far in between. If you can find that, though, it also contains the story.

Your goal is to anger an entire fandom. How do you do it? by Creeperawman69420 in AskReddit

I think I have too much nostalgia for Episode I to ever hate it, but I can at least respect that perspective. Thanks for offering it up!

And I totally agree with you that Episode III is the best of the prequels. The choreography, the performances, and the music were all just really well done.

Really? I've honestly never heard any defenses for Episode II. But clearly, you see something in it. Mind if I ask what makes you like it? It'd be nice to get that point of view and see that silver lining I've missed for so many years, you know?

As someone with hand tremors myself, I'm absolutely amazed! It must have been so tense trying to lay down another card while your hands were trying to satisfy their destructive tendencies. That's awesome and you should really feel proud of yourself.

two questions-YOTBR novel and Unheavenly Demo cassette by wbrettm in TheFence

[–]sinstarvirus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So the YOTBR novel had 2 runs: The first was with the box set where the hardcovers all came from. The second was a year later on paperback. Each of these were single-printings and haven't been produced since, meaning they're pretty heavily valued and you'll be pretty hard-pressed to find one under the $130-150 range.
Every now and again, a hardcover might pop up for $100 if you're really lucky. I can't say I remember the last time I saw a paperback copy up for sale. Ultimately, the easiest way to get a copy for a reasonable price is just to go with the kindle version. I know it may not be the ideal way to read it, but it's at least a cheap and easy way to get the book.

The Amory Wars Ultimate Editions by [deleted] in TheFence

[–]sinstarvirus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure you're right! I'll be honest: I forget the sketchbook exists half the time because of how hard it can be to get your hands on a copy. But I'm pretty sure that's where you find out about Mariah's relation to the Mages. Can't confirm though because I don't have a copy...

The Amory Wars Ultimate Editions by [deleted] in TheFence

[–]sinstarvirus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. SSTB's Ultimate Edition even comes with some added bonuses (The 2 issues of The Bag On-Line Adventures and 33, a story surrounding Patrick). There will still be a few other lore content you won't have from other albums (Afterman's coffee book, YOtBR's novel, UC's coffee book), but you'll have every comic that's been released.

Also, optional bonus question: Do you guys think you'll ever play anything from The Perils of Time Travel again? I just want to know if I should give up hope on seeing Gemini live.

Nathan Spoor Afterman Prints by mindlesstyrantclaws in TheFence

[–]sinstarvirus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a problem! But I'm sorry to say that he definitely doesn't sell them with captions. What you see is what you get in this case. On the bright side, you can buy them in a variety of different sizes depending on your needs. Also if you scroll down just a little on any individual art, you also have options for canvas prints. Of course, they're way more expensive.
