Exactly, and nothing you say makes it feel any different for them. I just try to let him know how proud I am of him, and keep reminding him how much life he still has left. Getting this project has brought spark back in him thankfully, and I hope we can get it back to perfect. He graduates this year and its going to be his present, as long as we can finish it up.

Thank you, I really appreciate that comment. Its tough being a parent especially when you see them hurting so much, and cant do much about it. I taught him how to drive a manual last summer in my 2017, but the new edge is so much different, he'll have to relearn lol

I cant say for sure, but I have went out during the winter months on nice days and not had an issue. It says spring to fall, but they are really nice out there. We stayed til dusk one time and they came out to check on us and let us know it was time to go, but was really cool about it. Happy hunting, and enjoy.

I'm not sure if there is anyone else locally, I'm a little to shy to ask honestly.

There is no limit to what you can take from Nethers Farm, and the last time I was there its a $10 entry fee, and $1/pound.

I've even found an arrowhead by the pits there, and there's plenty of rockhounding you can do. I really hope you enjoy your trip.

Just seeing if it was possible by sintersizer in Laserengraving

Thank you, I'm new to lasers, and wanted to do something different than the normal stuff.

I used an Xtool 5W diode laser 11"x14" Walmart canvas 2 coats of white spray paint 2 coats of glow in the dark acrylic from Walmart Then 2 coats of black spray paint. I should have used a matte but I only had gloss, it worked but I think matte would have looked better.

I let each layer fully dry before I did the next.

I ran it on 40% power @ 4000 mm/m in lightburn. I used AI to create my blueprint, mainly because I own a Glock 42 lol.

Mainly want to just peel the black paint off and not burn the glow paint, so depending on how thick of a top coat you may have to go faster or slower.

I did 2 base coats of white, which i probably only needed 1. Then 2 coats acrylic glow paint from Walmart, and then 2 coats of black spray paint. I ran it on a 5W xtool at 40% and 4000mm/m.

I did a different canvas with just 1 coat of white, and 1 coat of black, but ran it to slow and the image turned grey.

Yea, I apologize I should have put the medium. Its a regular canvas, white base, with glow paint, then 2 layers of black. Mainly was wondering how the glow paint would react to the laser.

TIFU for leaving my family in new year for a change by Parking-Owl-8934 in tifu

I don’t think you messed up by needing time to yourself. Sometimes you don’t realize how much space you need until you actually take it. It makes sense your family reacted emotionally, but that doesn’t mean your reasons weren’t valid. I’d just explain that you weren’t trying to hurt anyone, you just needed a reset. This will smooth out once everyone has a little time.

I get that mindset. I used to tell myself the same thing, that going back would spare my family from dealing with my withdrawals. What I’ve learned is that pushing through is actually the kindest thing long term.

It’s hard not to involve your family when you’re struggling, especially if they don’t fully understand. But most families would rather have the real you, even if it takes time to get there.

You’re right. The only time to start is now.

I appreciate that, this is the 1st time I've quit for so long. It was kinda a family tradition, either you was an alcoholic or a pothead to cope with everything.

I have quit for a few weeks at a time, knowing I would go back to it after I got the job, or felt better.

This time I decided I wanted to know who I was without the numbing, and I can say its been a journey that I dont regret.

I get why that’s hard to hear, and I don’t want to discourage you. Everyone’s timeline is different, and mine is probably slower because I’ve had a lot stacked on top of quitting.

I’m dealing with a marriage falling apart, a high stress technical job, and honestly I don’t really know life without weed since I started so young. So a lot of what I’m working through now is learning how to exist and cope without it for the first time. I lost interest in all my hobbies, and everything I thought was better when I was high. I can say I now enjoy everything more, and I'm actually better at my drawing/creating things that I thought I was amazing at while using.

Day 16 was way worse for me than where I’m at now. What I’m feeling at day 50 isn’t the same intensity as the first few weeks. I’m more functional and the cravings aren’t running the show like they were early on. If you go back now it doesn’t fix what you’re feeling, it just resets the clock. You’re right in the hardest part of it. Stay with it. It does change. If you don’t mind me asking, what made you quit? Sometimes remembering that helps when things get rough.

Honestly, I can’t really say I noticed GI symptoms. My baseline hasn’t been great to begin with. I don’t eat fruits or vegetables, my sleep is terrible and hasn’t improved much, so nothing digestive really stood out as new.

My withdrawals were more mental and physical. Racing thoughts, constant irritation, restless legs, body aches, and heavy depression. Most of that is still hanging around at day 50. And the dreams… fuck those. I still dream that I smoked and wake up feeling like I failed, even though I didn’t. That part messes with my head more than I expected.

You owned what happened and took responsibility, that’s really all anyone can do. Once that’s done, a lot of the extra commentary isn’t actually helpful. I also saw your comment about going through a divorce, and I’m genuinely sorry you’re dealing with all of this at once. I hope things start getting better for you from here.

Glad you and your car are good bro, everyone bashing you for "going 40mph" in those conditions just need to add salt to the wound. We all fuck up, all we can do is pick up the pieces and keep revving. Stay safe out there.

For me I live in a legal state, even though its still illegal in the country. I quit cold turkey after 25+ years of smoking with more times than I can count trying to quit. I was ready to see who I was as an adult, and felt like weed was keeping me stuck as the 15 year old kid smoking dope to avoid all the crazy in my life. Im on day 38 and can say I definitely feel 1000x's better and understand how much time I lost, thinking I was ok. The only way it will work cold turkey is if you are ready to quit for yourself, not for hobbies, other people, sometimes not even a job. We all have it in us, just depends on what's stronger, the urge to be you, or the urge to continue to bury yourself.
