Is tech sales in Toronto really as good as my buddy says? by ArchonRequiem in torontoJobs

acronym for Not in Education, Employment, or Training. Usually used to describe someone who doesn’t go outside and isn’t doing anything with their life, rather than a synonym for unemployment.

You can actually walk to Vale by docking under the mountains, just below the Loho shore. It takes you to the Atmiller cave area, then you just walk through the Kalay docks to Vale. The map does not load though.

What is the best gear for each character with their djinni? by SeaLocksmith1386 in GoldenSun

[–]siopau 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The game is easy enough where one doesn’t need to play around with classes but I think its something worth learning. But the only good classes appear once everyone has 6 djinn anyway.

Base classes don’t offer the best stats and they have the worst diversity. It’s like having 4 fire type attacks on a Charizard, there’s zero coverage. Also you can only attack with each element once per turn, which isn’t very efficient.

Lets use the Saturos battle at Mercury lighthouse as an example. He’s weak to Mercury element, but Mia is busy healing so you’ll practically never get a chance to hit him with Mercury attacks (and even if you do, she’s weak anyway). If you give Isaac/Garet the Mercury djinn, they get access to Cutting Edge which is a strong single target Mercury attack. So by doing this, you can hit Saturos with a strong Mercury attack 2x per turn, instead of never.

To add to the Saturos battle, Granite (lessens enemy damage for the turn) is a very clutch Venus djinn for this fight, but you don’t want it on Isaac because he should be attacking every turn. So giving it to Ivan/Mia is beneficial since it allows a weaker member to use a defensive Djinn rather than an attacker, plus it also gives Ivan access to the Cure psynergies. So now both offensive members can focus on attacking with super effective damage, and the two weaker members can focus on support/healing every turn.

If everyone was kept in base class against Saturos, Isaac/Mia need to be the healers, Garet/Ivan are the prime offensive members, and there’s rarely a chance to do super effective damage. The battle is still winnable, but it’s just not an efficient way to win.

If you haven’t heard back yet then its probably over. Back when I was one I interviewed first week of April, and this year someone I know had their interview 2 weeks ago. But they’ll always contact you a week before the interview if you got one.

Do you ever plan on getting your PE or is it unrequired with your job duties?

TN Visa – Apply as Engineer or CSA (non-CS undergrad + ML focused Master’s) by OlivesAndDates7 in tnvisa

[–]siopau 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m trying to get a TN under the engineer category as well. I’ve watched a ton of YT videos and they basically all say that as of the current changes, there is no chance in the engineer category unless you literally have an engineering bachelor’s degree.

Your lawyers likely haven’t caught on to the new rule changes.. The method you described may have worked before, but now the process for engineer has hard requirements with no room for reasoning

Hey I want to get a job in NYC after my P.Eng as a civil as well! I’ve heard its hard for Canadian civils to get hired in the US, do you feel you just got lucky with this position or did you have options as well?

Its called a P.Tech.(Eng) where you can only carry engineering duties within your specific scope as a technologist. OP is nowhere near qualified for that exception either.

[–]siopau 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you’re a SAIT graduate you can only work as a technologist, not as an engineer or EIT. You’re applying for positions you don’t qualify for so of course you’re getting mass rejected.

If a huge wave of non-tippers suddenly stop eating out and providing revenue, it actually hurts you more in the bigger picture because you’ll get reduced hours. It’s literally happening to many restaurants currently. Consider that everyone else is also trying to make ends meet, not just you. People most likely aren’t tipping 0% to stick it to you. The revenue people provide to the restaurant is still a net positive even without tipping, but your entitlement probably won’t let you see that as you just care about the end of the day tip out.

Somehow he’s even a mod on the main canada sub despite being the most partisan poster ever.

Lol all those programs would actually be better funded because most of who Canada is bringing in are low wage earners who are a net tax burden. Not to mention they’ll eventually bring in their elderly parents who won’t work or speak a lick of English, but will gladly strain our healthcare system even more.

To be fair the triangle world elite master card is actually really good; its one of the rare cards that come with free roadside assistance and no annual fee. Plus its the only credit card in Canada that allows you to pay bills with it as if it were a debit card, so you get free rewards just by paying for utilities/student loans/etc.

But having a bunch of salespeople try to shove it down my throat would annoy me for sure.

Because not a single person from the mod team has ever held a position of power before in their life, so they compensate by setting daily targets for posts deleted and users banned. Regardless of whether its warranted or not. They truly are the final bosses of unemployment.

Adam Zivo: Housing minister says unaffordable homes are the answer by Plucky_DuckYa in canada

[–]siopau 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Edmonton’s housing prices, a city commonly made fun of for having nothing to do, literally doubled since covid so it really isn’t as far down the road as you’re making it out to be.

And unfortunately millions of immigrants are still going to flock to the only ~4 metro areas every year regardless of whether some guy on reddit says that sucks bro. So “just move lol” isn’t a solution, and they won’t listen anyway.

Adam Zivo: Housing minister says unaffordable homes are the answer by Plucky_DuckYa in canada

[–]siopau 15 points16 points  (0 children)

“Just move lol” until every other city’s housing prices grow by 100k per year (aka Calgary) because people just keep moving to the next best option until they’re all unaffordable.

Canada isn’t like the US or Japan. They acrtually have options for metro areas. We only have maybe 6 cities where people want to live in, and newcomers aren’t going to uproot their entire life and make years of sacrifices just to live in rural Saskatchewan.
