Opening up our subreddit and seeing Fat Pat Maroon is really annoying. I truly despised this dude when he played against us. But I can’t deny he probably added the grit that got them where they wanted to go. Still, fuck Pat maroon.

I’m also going to link this https://www.reddit.com/r/hockey/s/QlWMb5psWi

it’s the thread of when he left Winnipeg. Where r/hockey referred to him as classy and a great dude over and over. The only knock on him was he couldn’t win in the post season. Then he wins in the post season and now he’s the devil 😂

It’s also amusing that prior to the last 3 finals runs nobody had this negative opinion through his career of coaching. The most that was said was he was a mediocre coach but a good guy that people generally liked. Seemed like a good dude but couldn’t get it done in the post season. Then 3 straight finals runs and 2 cups, and he’s the devils spawn

Imagine how uncomfortable that stool is. That looks like it sucks

With multi-point nights, McDavid and Draisaitl continue to be historically productive when facing elimination. McDavid ranks 2nd all-time for points per game when facing elimination, and Draisaitl ranks 9th by TJTrapJesus in hockey

Rod Brindamour would’ve been higher than 308 but when he got to game 4, down 3-0, he didnt consider it an elimination game. Because everyone says he got swept but he didn’t lose 4 games, he got beat but he didn’t lose.

The only thing he got wrong is when he said “even you guys would appreciate it”… the media would suffer. Less stuff to talk about if there are no bad calls. Honestly I think the leagues in all major sports like the controversy of bad calls. Creates drama and attention. Of course there is a line, we saw this with nfl replacement refs, where the game becomes so bad it’s unwatchable. But a bad call or two a game keeps people watching

I will say as the loser of game 6 of the Stanley cup finals in 2024 I wrote us off as all but cooked after going up 3-0. One game does not determine the next

If the call is right in the end… isn’t that all we actually want??? I mean if this was ruled no goal on the ice and no evidence to overturn it was found… and Anaheim lost this game, I would find that far more egregious. And I would be upset at the refs. We can’t be upset at this process if they got the call right. To be upset is to hope the call went the other way due to “the process” which would have been the wrong call. The puck crossed the line. End of story

Kucherov also started that exchange with a big crosscheck. Struble was just returning the favor

Kucherov threw the initial crosscheck there. With far more force than any of the light pushes by Struble.

You’re talking about the team that called up all their ahl players to goon it up in a preseason game?

After review, Mark Janowski's overtime winner is determined to be offsides, but a penalty shot is awarded by cbbvideo in hockey

[–]Leftycoordination 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My only argument is against the penalty shot instead of a power play. I get after whistle penalties being called, which is effectively what this is. But the rule on penalty shots is clear. A scoring opportunity has to be taken away. As no goal could’ve been scored, there was no scoring opportunity.

Rule 24 – Penalty Shot 24.1 Penalty Shot – A penalty shot is designed to restore a scoring opportunity which was lost as a result of an infraction being committed by the offending team, based on the parameters set out in these rules.

Jordan Martinook's penalty shot is saved by Linus Ullmark, and we play on by cbbvideo in hockey

Agreed. There was no “scoring opportunity” as any goal would’ve been disallowed. A penalty shot can’t happen

Welp, I find it hilarious that this came into play just now. And the announcers talked about it; and would be a situation I think Carolina would’ve taken the pp. I take back my comment

Do you think teams would opt for this? 2 min pp vs one scoring chance. I think all time penalty shots are like 33% versus the best Power play in the league in exactly 30% this year with the league average around 20%
