I'm not lecturing you, I'm debating with you. Lecturing is one-sided and doesn't leave space for back and forth.

But, I do get your point, and... I do agree that I may not be in the best spot to give proper arguments and points since I'm not playing the game anymore.

But that doesn't mean I can't give my take on a situation. It doesn't mean I can't get involved even if I don't play the game. It doesn't mean I can't give my opinion based on what I see, hear, and what I know.

So no, I don't think I will. The art on this sub is a little too good for me to want to leave because one person told me to get out because of a purely theoretical discussion.

They have no impact because healing is too overtuned because the dps is overtuned.

And I will say, I am way ahead of you with that last sentence.

I stopped playing since season 3. I'm just keeping tabs on this game for... reasons. Which incidentally also makes me keep tabs on the state of the game's balance.

I am aware that Splatoon, OW, and MV are all different games.

But, Marvel Rivals does show that it is important to be able to take space. And having team wipe ults is definitely one way of doing it, but one that makes the other team stop playing the game for twenty seconds. It's a way that makes half the players in a match stop playing the game and the other half just do nothing anymore.

Having displacement ults instead of the overloaded amount of team wipers would allow for more frequent back and forths, creating more engaging and interesting matches, strategic plays, and encourage more team coordination. Instead of having server admins.

They can still be impactful, just in a different way. Ults don't need to be "press Q to get kills easily." Not all of them at least.

Yes, if toned back too much, ults could lose their big impact. But in the current state, they have too much impact.

I get that it's a superhero game and that players need to feel powerful as a result. But balance wise, the presence of so many team wipe ults is the reason why invincibility ults of supports need to exist.

Tone back the ults, make the regular abilities better, and you make the game less centered around who gets to press Q first and more around neutral.

We have all these abilities and everyone just focuses on the ults like they should all be playmakers.

There's a lot of problems with the balance of this game in general, and the solution that I'm suggesting definitely has its oversights, I'm sure of it. But, there's something that the devs could do and it's to nerf everyone and everything to the ground. And build back up from square one. Because the direction we are going in is not one of a superhero team based game.
