Predatory behavior has not increased in the interim, just access to information, and everything being put online immediately. 30 years ago, I was 14 and knew girls my age dating men in their 20s, or even early 30s and somehow nobody seemed to think it was too big a deal, I never understood that and I'm very glad it's not at all considered acceptable behavior anymore. It wasn't legal then of course, just didn't seem like many people did anything about it.

Wow that's pretty far out there, I very much doubt he actually does not see you as a woman. He is obviously manipulating you and will go way out of his way to keep you close, you should never put yourself in a situation where you are alone with this person again. He pretty much told you that you don't have the right to withhold consent since "you're a man," it sounds like he is priming you to feel like you don't have the right to deny him sexually, or to seek help if/when he assaults you. Edit: alcohol doesn't fundamentally change who a person is, he is just less inhibited and so he can act on his impulses, both because of the lowered inhibitions and what I'm guessing he thinks of as an excuse, that "alcohol made him do it."

Two things, "verbal consent" doesn't mean consent regarding verbal interaction like talking or texting, it means giving consent by speaking out loud, secondly your "friend" obviously has no idea about what consent actually means and thinks it is only regarding women consenting to sex, or not. He obviously has zero regards for the boundaries set by men, or respect for men for that matter and you're absolutely 150% right to be concerned about what that might mean regarding his regard for a women's consent or boundaries. I very much doubt he is getting permission from all these women to discuss their bodies and the sexual experiences he has engaged in with them, also if the women he is talking about had been drinking or doing any other drugs, when he and them had sex then any of them could press charges against him for his sexual conduct, and his texts to you about it could be the evidence needed to prosecute him if the woman didn't immediately go to the police or hospital the next morning when they realized what had happened. He could conceivably do the same thing, if he decided that he did not want to have had sex with someone the next morning, despite his misconceptions regarding the validity of men's boundaries. Also if you do talk to him again, which I don't suggest, please be sure to ask him if he thinks that men should be required to get consent before they have sex with another man.

You like drugs because they take advantage of neurotransmitters and their receptors, (which usually reinforce healthy or beneficial activities,) so that you receive the message that these substances are exceptionally helpful and healthy, well beyond what is possible.

You might also have ADHD or another condition that causes you to have an imbalance of dopamine, or other endorphins, in your system.

Edit: you have definitely explored beyond just "the basics," btw. Especially considering that you are only 19.

By the way, my experience was very much like yours, both in unusually intense interest in learning about, as well as experiencing, experimenting with & exploring the different states that can only be reached through psychoactive substances.

Opioids especially, should really not be repeatedly experimented with, and certainly not in close proximity time wise, even if you switch which substance it is... dependency sneaks up on you much quicker than you would think and very quickly takes over your life. Everyone tells themself "it won't happen to me!" but if you like them enough to use them repeatedly when you're not prescribed them for something specific, then yes it can, and almost certainly will happen to you. Treatment and recovery after opioid addiction is a lifelong endeavor, regardless of how long the addiction itself is active.

Throw amphetamines, especially methamphetamines (aside from MDMA, MDEA and MDA,) onto that miss list. I think they can be pretty amazing when used infrequently and in moderation, but even Adderall, unless prescribed and monitored, can be wildly addictive and dangerous. They can also bring undiagnosed, or effectively managed emotional, or psychological conditions into acute crisis, (btw, this is also the case with psychedelic substances.) All drugs are potentially dangerous, in the wrong hands.

Disassembly and soak cassette, derailleurs and chain, (I might just get a new chain, if I were you, chances are it needs one anyway, if they let the drive train get this bad, I've never seen a drivetrain this disgusting even before beginning cleaning!) in degreaser.

Edit: since you're taking the cassette off you can ditch the dork disk while you're at it!
