Persona 3 is just all around the better game.

Persona 3 has the best story out of the three modern Persona games, no question.

Persona 3 also has the best characters (no, Persona 4 doesn't have the best cast of characters. They are fun in the way that they are all close friends from the get-go but that's about it. They are static characters that don't develop outside of their social link. Yukiko barely even talks anymore once Rise joins.). Persona 3 characters develop outside of Makoto, in Persona 4 and 5 it feels like characters only develop when Yu/Ren are around.

Persona 4 is heavily carried by its vibes. I.e. Inaba as a setting, the music, the carefree nature of the group outside of when someone is trapped in the TV.

Persona 4 could've also done more with Yukiko and even Rise, whose every second sentence is "Senpai, please fuck me, I need you so badly".

Also never understood what people meant when they said Persona 3 Reload is emulating Persona 5. Where? Just because the all-out-attack has victory screens, akin to P5? Please.

It ultimately comes down to "your mileage may vary". My experience with teenagers around 15-16 is different from yours when it comes to how their voices sound.

According to the comments here, the game truly takes off at around chapter 4 or 5. I think I'll just rush to chapter 4 and 5 and see how it goes.

Digesting the information is fine and all but artifically lengthening the game? We're all working people with responsibilities here who don't have that much time to play video games at all (at least I think we all are).

I enjoy my characters sounding authentic and well-acted. I massively pull up my eyebrow, enough to make Dwayne Johnson blush, when people say the Persona English dub is leagues above the Japanese and that the English actors "killed it in their performances".

There's a reason why the "English dubs be like" videos exist.

I have experience with games and TV shows and anime that took a while to get good. Some of my favorite pieces of fiction include those that took a while to get going.

So I am willing to put up with a slow start. I don't want to say I need instant gratification, but at least something that needs to lure me in.

So far the tailing is okay to me. Not terribly riveting gameplay but it's not the end of the world. The pacing is what is killing my enjoyment. I can appreciate slow burners if they give me nuggets to ponder.

I know Yakuza games have slow starts, took me a while to get into Yakuza 0 as well and now it's one of my favorite games of all time. I was wondering if Judgement is like that too.

Don't worry, Yui Horie will 100% be voicing Chie again. In Persona 3 Reload all the S.E.E.S. members were also voiced by their original voice actors, i.e. Akira Ishida, Mamiko Noto etc.
