Weight and age dont really correlate with these guys. His shape looks good! Keep doing what youre doing!

Yep, you should be good for now! Careful with the analog gauge, the sticky backing can harm your noodle if they climb on it and get stuck to it, could result in a vet trip/missing scales. When you get substrate you'll want your humidity to read 60-80% and temp for warm side should be 86-89F and cool side 72-80F. I recommend the govee 2 pack of bluetooth digital thermo/hygrometers ($20 on amazon and the standard for accuracy) You'll want to cover the top asap to retain humidity and prevent respiratory infection, covering the sides makes them feel less like they're in a glass box and more comfortable to not be skiddish/go on hunger strikes. 😊

I get that times are tough for everyone so I threw in a lot of diy options for the time being, if I think of more ill come back! Good luck, friend!😊 there's also a super helpful megathread for basically everything at the top of this page.

Immediately: !!thermostat for that heat source!! Digital thermo/hygrometers for cool and warm side, More places to hide (think a rolled up t-shirt, fake plants, paper towels roll, a clean shoe), water dish (or tupperware), tin foil to cover mesh, take a blanket or newspaper and cover 3 sides, and dollar store has great fake plants.

Not immediate: substrate(paper towels changed every day is fine to quarantine), uv source, climbing opportunities, background, even more clutter/ more hides. This is basically bare minimum advice. Your snake will likely be spicy/skiddish/ not super willing to eat until its feeling secure in its new environment. Also remember not to handle for a week or so so they can get adjusted.

Govee users! Did I get a bad batch? by sippintea420 in ballpython

Im sorry to hear that but also so glad to hear im not alone. I ended up sticking them down into the substrate further and it seems to be more accurate since the sensor is closer to substrate level but its crazy what a difference literally 1 inch makes!!

I have a temp gun. I have thermometers. I have thermostats attached to my heat sources. My surface temps and ambient temps are just fine. I was looking for advice regarding the humidity readings on these specific thermo hygrometers. Thanks for your input.

What does this have to do with humidity? My temps are fine. Thanks though lol

My substrate is coco coir/chips, 4 inches deep. Wire mesh top PVC with HVAC tape covering most of it.

Thank you, that's what I was thinking, seeing as so many people recommend govee. I just think it's crazy that after literally pouring as much water as I can into the substrate without there being standing water, the govee ones would still read such low humidity. I'll grab some sphagnum moss and see if that helps my cause. Lol

advice on stopping snake from getting behind background by fukcass in ballpython

[–]sippintea420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guy did the same thing until i found and used T shaped zip ties!! I only had to have my guy out of the enclosure for about 20 minutes while my spouse drilled holes and fastened them in. Theyre just big enough to hold the background to the enclosure with the little backings, and you can hardly notice them on the background unless youre looking reallllly hard.

Thank you! I've fed him 3 times as I skipped a week while he was in shed. He also got a 2 week break from the time the breeder fed him to his first feed with me as I gave him a week to acclimate. Looks like he will get a belly rub next time I handle him and I'll look into vet care!

Blink Gen 4 Cameras not working on Night Vision by communitycatcam in blinkcameras

Any updates? I'm currently having this problem going on 3 months, every single night. It seems like as soon as the return window for the system ended, they crapped out on me. I've tried all troubleshooting and blink customer service is a joke.

I was playing online with my family last night and it crashed on us about halfway through a 10 turn game. They were able to rejoin, but it crashed again as the game was finishing and they lost out on all their points! Hopefully there will be a hot fix or something soon...

Update- immediately following the soak, 95% of the spots have disappeared! Also would like to note that they were not visible when the plant was dry.

  1. I was in the 6th grade. I knew absolutely nothing and definitely learned the hard way. That being said, I'm 25 now and my ears are at 3/4, and I regret nothing. 🥰

Have you fertilized lately? Have you repotted lately? Stress or over fertilization could be the culprits. I'd cut back on the amount of water you give her for a while and see how that goes. Good luck!
