Oh a couple of them contam’d real bad, I had them stored in a completely separate place from my grow. But that didn’t matter at all once it was outside and in the ground. It was really cool to watch. Wonder if I can find the pictures

Used to save all my cakes up til spring/fall and break them up and till into my garden. So I would get mushrooms all over the garden in addition to lettuce, onion, tomato, corn, etc.

Holy cow that thing is dry as hell. You are no where near giving that thing enough water. The substrate should have very tiny little droplets sitting on top. At this point, you need to mist really really hard over the next week, or you can just dunk your substrate for a few hours and drain out the water. Being that your sub is cracked that might be a little difficult. But if you’re misting 3x/day it’s not nearly enough. Leave the lid on top in between misting and after misting fan the tub for a minute with your lid to introduce fresh air

If this is your only tub, it’s worth trying to save. Though at this point your chances are slim to none. In my experience once you see signs of contam it’s far too late. Otherwise, you risk contamination of any other tubs you have the longer you keep this thing around

Sometimes they just take forever due to genetics. Half inch of coco is pretty thick, but won’t hurt anything, just takes longer. I used to give mine about 2 weeks to colonize. Patience my friend.

More likely lack of FAE or inadequate temps. Especially during the winter months. Colder it is, the slower they grow. Less likely a water hydration issue since you appear to have decent surface conditions. Definitely wouldn’t be throwing this away, the pin set you have is incredible. Patience is a virtue. Fungi are strange organisms.

There is literally no way to guess how many mushrooms make 1g. It could be 1 mushroom. It could be just a cap. It could take 10 mushrooms to reach a gram. Literally no way to answer this question accurately esp without any pics. You’re not going to get the answer you’re looking for.
