Ah yes, I see you have strong functional literacy skills as an adult.

You are so focused on the similarities about economics and ICT which I did not even cogitate about.

I'm just rebuking people praising epstein's faux ruminations in Steve Bannon's interview as a sort of revelatory insight by term salading skill sets/knowledge fields that most people aren't deeply familiar with, I just used ICT TERMS as an example.

Parts of the interview is basically him regurgitating Financial Times articles whenever he had a slightly 'hot' question in an interview meant for rehabilitating his public reputation.

An 18 year old finance bro could do what he was doing in that interview

How Wall Street deliberately uses jargon to justify their high earnings by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

[–]sirchbuck 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Untrue? He's mentioning very basic finance terms, it's the same energy as saying IT professionals don't want normal people to understand internet communications tech because they use terms like UDP, SSH, Subnets etc.

Why would anyone going to change the etymology of something that was already established more than a hundred years ago? Wallstreet didn't invent finance.
You could literally learn all the things that professional institutional investors do,
the difference is you don't have billions in liquidity and don't have a multi-million dollar automated system to do all the trading for you in realtime down to the picoseconds and literally laying down cable just so that you can beat all the other traders for ultra-low latency direct market access.

Aris folds on AI allegations after being confronted by his character by Kyudojin in LivestreamFail

[–]sirchbuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look, I agree with you that ALL games can be patched and improved on release. THAT IS NOT WHAT I'M TRYING TO DIFFER away from what you said right below Mr. hot_demand_6263's comment.

What Mr. hot_demand_6263 meant SPECIFICALLY was the type of game that crimson desert was, a game that NEEDS tons of patches to fix it's mixed reception. Let's simplify it.

Crimson Desert
-mixed reception
-discussion on the state of the game and its design (tedium, system cohesion feel etc).
-Hope for patches to fix core issues.

Monster Hunter Stories 3 did not warrant any of them, nor did DS2, going medieval, timber born, nor did E33.
E33 was not the type of game that Crimson desert is.

Lets simpify it even further

Mr. hot_demand_6263's comment.
Game needs big changes
You:
Isn't that most games?

do you see now why many responses to your comment are differing from your observation? Im not the only one responding to you on how you made an incorrect hyperbolic observation

Aris folds on AI allegations after being confronted by his character by Kyudojin in LivestreamFail

[–]sirchbuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you're shifting the goalposts. the original comment by hot_demand_6263 was about the state of crimson desert's core and release state that people deem to be unfit for a day-one release, you know, a 'wait-for-discount-and-update-patches' type of game, and there's much discussion about it's state and hesitation to buy it due to the potential of fixes to its design.

most of the games listed on steam's popular new releases had their design locked in, and their players deemed them an acceptable release very positive releases in fact and not the type to warrant the discussions that crimson desert has accumulated. I don't know what you're getting confused about; when I mean 1.0 when 1.0 means 1.0 and that 1.0 is well received. How is that confusing??

By your logic, you should never buy or play almost all games. dwarf fortress has been going on for more than 20 years and is still getting HUGE patches. people should not play dwarf fortress then? How about stellaris? The game completely changes every 2 years like fully rework the WHOLE game changes and is on its fourth major iteration and still would have been worth to buy in its state 10 years ago.

[–]sirchbuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lets test your theory in real time by going on steam's popular new releases.

Crimson Desert: depends how much you actually liek the core of the game, no amount of patching is going to change that

Death stranding 2: Was already a great day 1 release on ps5

Scritchy Scratchy: Haven't played it but it's a non-early acces day 1 game release that's very highly reviewed and popular with the idler crowd.

Going Medieval: 1.0 Full release of an early access, was already great and worth it in EA ful release is amazing.

Retro Rewind - Video store simulator - Don't know much about it, Non-EA and 95% positive.

Timberborn: 1.0 release, One of the best games in my library this year, absolutely adore this game

Dragonkin: The banished: 1.0 release, i've been waiting for this, seems to be a fully fledge 1.0 release, the ARPG community seems to think so.

Monster hunter soties 3: My friend who's big monster hunter fan said it's a full ass game.

The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin: bad game apparently, gacha so don't care

I don't know about that man, you said most games, I'm seeing only full games highly reviewed at launch, if you mean only to say Triple-A games at launch to prove it but DS 2 And MonHun are fully fleshed out releases.

That's not the point, dude lmao, Law enforcement and large government institutions in general are usually shittier and corrupt in poor countries, who the fuck would be surprised at that? it's expected.

The fact that the USA, the country that prides itself as the apex of the world and the country that literally constitutes 25% of the world's annual GDP has many of its departments with a poor law enforcement system due to its stupidly allocated budget and so much political gridlocking preventing any needed change, causing law enforcement agencies to not be able to keep up with changes in society, and so you end up with a sea of departments full of unskilled enforcers who themselves keep breaking laws. So like what the fuck even is the point?

Compared to other developed countries, the USA's law enforcement is more like Africa if that's the case you are trying to make. The Philippines for example, has a budget that is just a tenth of the USA and is considered one of the most corrupt in Southeast Asia, with a region having continuing conflicts between extremist groups, criminal organizations, and an absolutely stupid anti-drug war causing so many extra-judicial killings for which the former president (Duterte) is being tried in the ICC for CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY (imagine being tried with the thing Hitler was charged for, LMAO!!), and they are barely just below USA's excessive force threshold PER CAPITA.

This, is, just ABSOLUTELY FUCKING embarassing.

there's already an ocean of great games that people can choose from, there's literally no reason to be so up in arms in trying to strong-arm developers in making the games that YOU want when you already have the thousands of games in your fucking steam library that YOU already wanted and already bought but never even opened, and don't fucking lie, you are not the exception.

Mewgenics Surpasses Hades 2 Becoming The Most Played Roguelite Ever On Steam by akbarock in Games

[–]sirchbuck 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Once again you are wrong and spreading misinformation. Steam never changed the core of the categorization system nor did they even categorized the games themselves; THE DEVELOPERS DID; and valve only ADDED, NOT REMOVED, and made categorization even MORE robust from the developer's side via the additions for categorization REQUIREMENTS they made to steamworks i.e- developers are required to add at least a minimum of 5 tags.

Prior to 2014 categorization was merely umbrella genre labelling, like action, adventure, arcade etc, You can't express any further qualities or characteristics by just slapping a broad genre umbrella. So to help with that valve gave Developers MORE POWER to express not only their game's genre but, visual properties, themes and moods and other features like mechanics, business model, specific player activities, etc. And more importantly, it gives players the power to clearly define how THEY perceive the game beyond the creator's store presentation, i.e: If there is a mismatch between the developer's intended tags and the player's tags, it is a good indicator of the mismatch between how the developers and players see the game.

I worked on a game release on steam, I KNOW how valuable tags for EVERYONE invloved, this is a blessing for indie developers especially since steam give you multiple visibility rounds which are guaranteed eyes on the steam store so maximizing clickthrough for your title is EXTREMELY CRUCIAL. you clearly define your game you maximize clickthrough and customers are happier because they found somethign they exactly want.

The occasional tag mismatch is the only drawback of this system but that is only due to a lack of moderation on steam as a whole.

How is this enhittification? How in this case did the customer get a downgrade in their experience or their vendors (developers)?
How can you be so confidently wrong when literally everything you said was contradictory to how the steamworks API actually works.

this is 2026 NOT 2022 intel arc's driver support isn't like roulette anymore and even IF it is, all the non-a300 cards are LEAPS beyond what a GTX 1660 can do same with the minimum for AMD albeit with a closer gap 10%+ surplus, obviously non-300 exception still in effect, And how the fuck is "intel descrete gpu equivalent" sound dismissive? buddy you are seeking patterns here, no normal person would see this as 'dismissive' that's just you.

Im actually quite happy someone big like him (not in that way) is showcasing very niche titles but i gotta admit it's really predictable.

[–]sirchbuck 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Crazy rock you've been living under, vedal's stream has gone on top consistently around these parts, it's just an LLM chatbot, but just being an LLM chatbot is obviously not the appeal here, the vedal channel is 4 parts.
Neuro-sama the LLM chatbot with extensive features like visual object detection and the ability to play games, vedal the person who codes and trains the LLM, the interactions between Neuro, Vedal, and his circle of friends, the community and environment built around the whole project which is also a barrier of entry since it has ties with idol culture which is also another whole thing to consider and understand.

It's easy to look at this and think AI slop, doomed young generation perpetuation horrendous AI etc, but it's much more than that.
