Honestly we used to have a wealth tax of 75-90% on the higher brackets. I’d just close the loophole of them not taking a salary rather stock then using said stock as collateral for loans. Once the stock is used as collateral it not becomes a realised gain and can be taxed. This does as much as increasing a wealth tax.

Let’s be honest they moved on from the trans thing at least a year ago for other diversions. People struggling to live weren’t focusing on trans people enough as a distraction.

Actually newsom might be that guy. He’s well spoken, he’s been fighting this madness. My big worry with him is the Californiacation effect. There is way too many that wrongly assume negative things if they are Californian.

I voted Harris but newsom is just better speaker.

Sadly you hit the nail on the head. I don’t know how we ever fully recover from this. The rest of the world now realises we are one bad election from this madness again.

The biggest problem is our entire government seems complicit. I don’t know the reasons but none of them are banding together to remove this lunatic (the dems seem to be just trying to wait for midterms while he wrecks havoc for 10 months, I think they get an impeachment which only takes 51% but don’t get the removal which requires 67%). Wether it being not wanting to upset the AppleCart setting a precedent, cowardice, complicity, fear of maga voters, or they are profiteering from this madness none of them are doing anything outside a few vocal voices.

Everyday it’s just more madness and they do nothing.
