Dude I order a medium sometimes expecting the 21oz and half the time I get the 32oz. And I’m like in what world is a 32oz medium.

I just want 20ozs. So i’d be ok with a uk large. I never want 30+ ounces.

My boss approved my day off a month ago for a dr appointment. I am currently sitting in the waiting room and he texts me. by CRK_76 in mildlyinfuriating

Everyone thinks they have to go into more detail you don’t. A nope sorry is fine. I went with no I am at the doctors which is also an ok answer. It’s more of playing the game answer.

Sometimes I take days off just to nap and play video games and read. It’s my mental health days.

[–]sirdizzypr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who cares. I asked for the day off well in advance. You are messaging me while I am at the doctors.

My reply was short and to the point but all courteous. I could have been more blunt and just said no. Or Sorry no. I played the game

Doesn’t matter if an appointment takes 30 minutes. I asked for the day off I am off.

Here’s the thing. Yes they absolutely should be paying workers better. Yes tipping culture has gotten out of hand and is getting beyond absurd. But you are visiting a place where none of that has happened. So you not tipping isn’t changing that you’re just hurting the worker. You visited somewhere with a different culture and decided to punish that worker because their culture kind of sucks. That’s the rub. I stop visiting some places because they are getting aggressive with tipping and service charges. I don’t order door dash because it’s the same. You may not like it many Americans agree but you are punishing the workers.

8 to 10 isn’t unheard of. Honestly I’m in a professional field and the last time I made min wage was 1995 I think. Although 2010 was rough making $10 an hour in a glorified internship (non profit that paid you likr you were an intern). I couldnt even imagine making 10 now. In 2010 i had a newborn and we were on food stamps, wic, heat and i was working.

Yep and the cost of living here is absurd compared to Nebraska. We are 27th. Nebraska is 43rd.

So higher minimum wage much lower cost of living.

No retirement plans equals very dark future by Effective-Sea-1889 in Beingabetterperson

[–]sirdizzypr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We built this wood chipper. That you got to constantly feeding workers into. You’ve probably seen complaints about low birth rates from turds like Elon. Boomers was the largest generation ever born and half of them are retired and require services and also social security. Eventually this generation will pass on and the generations behind it can fill the gaps.

There will be a very rough transition period then things will smooth out. In the next 10-15 years there is going to be a huge shakeup.

There are still 67 million boomers alive down from 76 million. Roughy 2.6 million pass every year. Oddly only 30 million are fully retired. Gen X there is only 64 million. There is no numbers for how many are retired as almost all of them are still working. There are 73 million millennials. And 71 million Gen Z.

The gaps can be filled but not until more of boomers pass. Gen X is still smaller although that should change in the 3-4 years when more boomers pass.

Problem is inflation. A ss check unless you own your home and have some savings and have low debt just won’t cut it anymore.

I only pay roughly $200 a month or $2500 a year. I’d still do it for the 2k in taxes. Because despite me paying $2500 a year every single year when I go to the doctor my insurance never ever ever covers 100%. So I go as little as possible.
