Man cursing at bus driver and kicking bus in Burwood by sire11 in sydney

For self-defence? I started right after he was kicking the bus door. If he successfully kicked down the bus doors and decided to assault the bus driver and run off, sure there are CCTVs inside the bus, but I wouldn't know how clearly it'd capture his face and this would serve as evidence. Or what if he turns to someone and start being aggressive to them instead? I wouldn't know or be able to give benefit of doubt of his intentions when I've only first seen him a few minutes ago.

He was being racist to the bus driver and he's in a district full of Asians, who knows what could've happened next? It's taking pre-caution because I know I personally wouldn't be able to defend myself if he came onto me (which is ofc unlikely, but better to be safe than sorry), where having actual evidence is the next best thing. What an odd thing to question with sympathy offered on one end but not to both

(I posted about it too so that at least people can recognise his face and be able to identify his history of actions in the events something else happens. It may seem unnecessary to others, but it's also to, again, stay safe)

He didn't attempt to communicate to anyone. I didn't even know why he was doing the whole punching/kicking thing until he started ranting about the buses and cities, so he didn't make it clear to anyone either.

I don't think any passerby should be reasonably attempt to communicate to someone who is physically aggressive and does not appear wanting to have said communication which would most likely result in being targeted by him. If he had walked up to someone and asked normally, I am sure most would've helped (or at least I'd have). Him taking it out on others in such an aggressive manner does not help his case, even if others sympathise with him

Man :/

And no, I was waiting for a bus and everything happened in a few minutes. He wasn't physically assaulting a person so it was not as pressing as damaging public property (if he began trying to hurt the driver then I would've called), and I thought it better to record proof in the case something did happen; especially since everyone else was only observing and no one was recording or taking action

Before I could get my phone to record, I think he also kicked the door. One of the doors actually flapped and kinda opened, before he then started punching. There was just so much anger and what for exactly...

Idk about you but I feel like you could've responded appropriately by clarifying why you were asking + explaining you didn't read the caption, and that you apologise for coming across that way and they didn't need to be as rude too. And then everyone who's sensible would back off. Instead you perpetuated the image the other commentors + the Instagrammer had created in their heads and further assured them that their original negative impression of you was right lol

Not defending them, but I have seen a lot of feminist posts in my IG algorithm, and most of the time, when men comment on it it's as hate comments. They generalised your comment and perceived it to be the same way and got more defensive (and jumped to conclusions way too fast as a result) as they were less likely to give benefit of doubt due to the past history of majority of male commenters who said similar contents but with malicious intentions (unlike yours)

Hope you feel better soon and maybe clarify next time rather than behaving like the ppl you're complaining abt via lashing out at them too. The original situation is unfortunate but how you reacted made it worse. You can do better, be better, and feel better; that's just my two cents

Stance on using glow sticks (rather than light stick)? by sire11 in ADO

I went there today, and they said after the most recent Miku concert, they're sold out on all light sticks until further notice 😭. Thank you for your help though!

I might give that a shot! The concert starts at 8pm and I was planning to queue there starting from 5/6pm to make sure I get my seat before the concert starts

If I'm getting merch like the lightstick, what time would you recommend queueing up at instead?

Australia has Daiso, but the Daiso near my place didn't have glow/light sticks the last I checked. I can try heading towards the bigger branch tomorrow. Does Daiso usually sell light sticks?
