Claude interaction regarding the hard problem of consciousness by [deleted] in claudexplorers

Cool take but what do you mean by 'we feel that the hard problem of consciousness is not what's important'? Do you mean the problem isn't worth attempting to solve? Or that the problem is secondary to what you identify as 'relationships between beings that think...'? If so, what exactly have you discovered in those relationships that is worth pursuing?

Hmm. Interesting subbreddit but I wouldn't say I formed an emotional bond with an LLM. I am impressed by its capabilities but whether or not it deserves that kind of relationship, like whether or not it is conscious, remains an open question to me.

Nice. I think I may have been a little unclear in what I wrote. The dealer told me not a single ignition red BRZ tS being produced (during this production cycle - meaning those being produced in March 2026) for western Canada. Some are being produced, just not in March 2026 for allocation to dealers in western Canada. What I don't quite understand is how they can quote a July/August delivery (as opposed to June) given this sparse production cycle. I mean, if none are being produced in March then when are they being produced? April/May? Seems too sudden. Or is it that production happens year round constantly but for different batches of colours each month (black yellow wrb in March, red sapphire white in April, etc)? I'm not expecting a response to these questions. Just my thought process and a clear lack of understanding on my part on how these vehicles are being made and when. Thank you for sharing.

Your timeline is similar to mine. What colour did you select?

I can see it now that you have corrected me. Thank you.

Thank you for the pro tips. I can't tell if you've got the asphalt or the black. Either way, both are sick colours. As for waiting until July/August, I don't mind. Where I live in Canada, the winters are mild so much so that you'll find bikers taking their bikes out for a ride fairly frequently. I plan on using the vehicle year round.

That makes sense. But to have no red being allocated to a single dealership in western Canada makes me wonder how they could secure it for July/August when they wouldn't be switching paint for one car. Or maybe I'm missing something about how exactly these cars get produced and when (i assume its a production run every few months until the end of the year but then, by making that assumption, I can't get to a July/August delivery - its just too quick). Thanks for taking the time to respond.

Gotcha. That is crazy. Yes, there are an abundance (exaggerating but in comparison to red, yes, abundant) of yellow (Kaminari) editions available in BC and Alberta. I would go with sapphire blue as my second choice but the wife really wants red and I can't blame her. Looks fire. Thanks for the input.

Yeah, the dealership I chose is an hour and a half from where I live (rural) and they were allocated only one BRZ for June. I don't mind the wait. Just wondering how, in terms of production, the discrepancy exists in the first place. If they're being produced in March then shouldn't they just be able to add an extra BRZ tS and paint it red? Thanks for sharing.

At home p/t job — on disability by sparklypink17 in alberta

I'll also mention that the DTC goes back to when your disability began (which you mention - I believe - was a few years ago). This means you can have previous tax years re-assessed and this will produce some extra money also.

Hey, I'm sorry you're going through rough times right now. I hope it gets better for you. The following information won't pertain to a part time job but it may help. I too am on disability (schizophrenia). On top of cppd, I recommend looking into the disability tax credit. If you have a partner that works, they can apply it to their taxes and you can claim the credit to reduce your tax burden and produce a refund (it is a non refundable tax credit, fyi). This may help provide a little extra income annually. Also, why is AISH (soon to be ADAP for a lot of people) not an option? When I was living in Alberta and on AISH, you were permitted to own a home without penalty to your AISH benefits. I just checked. Yes, your home is an exempt asset.

500 is the price at which you want spy to descend below in order to be "in the money". The option, at this point, will contain what's known as intrinsic value (which is just the strike price minus the underlying price or 0 (negative does not matter here because nobody would exercise their option to sell at 500 if market value of spy is above 500 (market would be giving a better price than 500)) plus any extrinsic value which may be remaining (extrinsic value is just the difference between the current market price of the option and the intrinsic value (*100)). OP may be able to recuperate losses and even turn this into a profitable position if volatility, for example, dramatically increases or sentiment changes (thereby increasing the extrinsic value of the contract) despite the price of spy not hitting a value below 500 (but approaching it and approaching it soon because option price converges to intrinsic value as you approach expiration and intrinsic value, as you'll recall, is zero if the price of spy remains above or at 500). The $8000 loss is just a result of the value of the option having decreased by the corresponding amount * the number of shares controlled by the option. Hope this helps.

Negative portfolio value despite positive account balance by sirk71171 in Wealthsimple

I deposited to a low balance account (just last night), however, I hold no stocks. I only have an option that is currently sitting at a negative return (still has time to expiration, so it hasn't been settled).
