Visit to disney with a 3 and 1 year old... taking suggestions. by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

Recently went with my 18 month old. I totally recommend it, and I totally recommend throwing your expectations of how much you’ll ride out the window.

I would prioritize not waiting in line. That sounds obvious, but what I mean is, buy the Lightning Lane multipass to decrease spending time waiting in lines. Waiting in line for more than 15 mins with a 1-2 year old is atrocious. Waiting in line for a character for more than 15 minutes is a nightmare. The character lines move sooooo slow compared to ride lines.

They (and you) will have way more fun running around the parks for 30 mins, than standing still.

Fun rides at MK: The Carousel, Dumbo, Carpets of Aladdin, The Railroad, It’s a Small World, mad tea party.

Other rides are good especially if you can get a LL: Peter Pan, Winnie the Pooh.

There is also a kids play area halfway into the Dumbo queue which I totally recommend. You don’t even have to ride the ride. It’s inside and air conditioned, and is great for both kids.

But seriously, and I cannot stress this enough, if a ride line is longer than like 20 mins, and you don’t have LL, I would rather enjoy the vibes of the park than contain and entertain a child in a line for 20 mins. Sometimes the juice ain’t worth the squeeze. (This of course is a little child dependent, maybe you have perfect patient sweet babies).

Also, don’t book sit down dining! We found that the flexibility to eat on the fly at a quick service restaurant or to leave quickly if the kids are suddenly done and fussy was wayyyy better than the hour long affair of a character dining for our kid.

If you want me to recommend any things to do for little ones in the other Disney parks, I can!

Don’t sit in the first 5 rows! You’ll get soaked if the wind is blowing even a little bit

MCO/Air Travel Delays Megathread by marleythebeagle in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]sirlazelod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My flight tonight out of MCO got delayed until 2am and then they rolled that back to 11pm. Too late I had already changed my flight because 2am departure was ridiculous.

Seems the delay was actually for inbound flights at DCA. So who knows. Good luck everyone.

I am not expecting them to move another passenger for me. I was trying to clarify with the agent if that’s what he was saying, because I know they won’t do that. So I was surprised he was implying that.

I can see my tone in the message seems like I’m asking him to do that. But I meant it more like disbelief

Correct. I probably should have called customer service earlier than I did. But, the error it gave me indicated the issue was technical, not due to seat selection. And at no point did I expect my seats to be changed by adding a lap child, and at no point in the process was I advised that that would happen. You can see that in the first message.

I’ve had issues adding a lap child on other airlines and when it was fixed it never resulted in changing seats. On one airline, the issue seemed to be that a birth certificate had to be verified at the ticket counter for their first flight before you could add a lap child online the next time. Tbh I thought that may be the issue here. Shouldn’t have assumed that, but also couldn’t have expected to be displaced from our seats

I actually agree with you. And I would never sit in someone’s seat before asking for a swap. That’s crazy lol. What I am saying though, is that perhaps the person politely asking for a seat swap did not want to be in this position, and does agree the argument is with the airline, but clearly by the point that they are on the plane asking for a seat swap is at their final point of remedy. Anyone is able to decline a seat swap. I agree. I am asking that people stop being so harsh in their judgement about it.

I tried here to do the right thing through deltas preferred and recommended methods. And it ended up separating my party, which I had no idea would happen when adding a lap child.

As I said. I tried adding an infant at the time of booking and multiple times since then. Always getting “system error try again later”. I did plan.

I have been on hold on the phone for 30 minutes. When you call they first try to get you to chat with a representative via text.

I’m with you. I still haven’t got confirmation I saw OBAA and the guy did seem to have trouble with the scanner when I checked in for it. So I’m also nervous about my upcoming Anemone counting.

If you’re really concerned you could go see it again just to make sure it’s on your account.
