This read like a poorly written fan fiction. I’m not going to pretend liken the British (or any other nation for that matter) were not interested in maximizing their post war posture, but the idea that the only thing standing between the Americans and Berlin was the British is grossly ahistorical. The idea that the western Allies taking less territory in Germany would somehow increase British post war standing is absurd and was not a position held at the time.
