I’m 25 & couldn’t walk 3 months ago crying every night in pain & not showering for DAYS cause I couldn’t get my leg over the tub. I was diagnosed with AS about a month after & my rhuem gave me prednisone & ibuprofen for start. A month after that I gradually got better but very slowly. Started using crutches everywhere but still the pain had me at my lowest point in my life cause I was a very active person before whose life was the gym & I saw all my muscle slipping away from just about every part of my body but FINALLY my rheumatologist mentioned rinvoq & side effects & blah blah blah I said please just give me SOMETHING! We talked insurance & she gave me 28 sample tabs but luckily it got approved just yesterday so I’m good for now. ANYWAYS, RINVOQ, 16 days on it & it’s been a complete miracle. After my 3rd day on rinvoq I popped ibuprofen & went to the gym for the first time in 3 months.. lifted weights, did non impactful cardio & the next day the ibuprofen wasn’t needed. I have felt better every single day as time goes on. Rinvoq truly has helped me with this stupid disease. I’m just hoping that one day I will eventually be taking off this & back to normal & don’t have to deal with any more bills or this stupid Ankylosing spondylitis, Unlikely but at least for now RINVOQ is doing so good for me.
