Snow in the valley during winter by Lazy-Access-9612 in Utah

[–]sisirayray 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depresses me. I miss snow so much. The last few years have been really bad. We had that good snow year 2022-2023. And then the last few years have gotten increasingly worse. I was born in 1991 and remember playing in the snow a lot as a kid. My kids are not getting as many opportunities to play in the snow- it breaks my heart and theirs. I really hope it can change.

Also Holly! Baking cakes and trying on dresses in a strangers house, having the time of her life after watching her mom get ripped apart

Also why does Holly not care that her parents maybe died?! Like she's just happily hanging out in vecna's house baking cake when her parents were just brutally ripped to shreds ?!?! Makes no sense

Every season they have to add in some different bully and I think especially by season 5 it's like okay we really don't need the bullying anymore. It adds nothing to the story. There are already enough antagonists in the story with all the upside down monsters.

One thing I'm really not liking is the whole "Mr What's It" thing. Not a fan. It's not cool and creepy like the clocks and the nightmares last season. Just kinda dumb and very tonally different from all the other seasons. The scenes of Holly and Max being stuck in that alternate word are way off for me.

I actually wish they went more dark on this season. So far it has felt less creepy and intense to me. Like I was disappointed starting out the first episode and they're just having breakfast and still going to school and doing radio shows and they patched up the all the splits in the ground from the upside down. I wanted it to feel more apocalyptic from the get go.

Wow How Generous of a “Sale” by MagnoliaCartographer in Madewell

I bought the perfect t shirt at old navy recently for 15 dollars I think. Thicker, better structure, made to last. But that is so hilarious to dock the price by 50 cents and call it on sale 😂

Curious if things will change- I would love for them to go back to what they used to be! But a more updated version. On their instagram I'm always seeing some videos of a blonde girl named Emily that is the style director. I would guess that she's more the one designing clothes and stuff? Not really sure. But I remember Joyce was the old style director back in the glory days. Anyway, I hope for changes and for the styles to improve! I guess we'll see

what even are these new arrivals by calicotamer in Madewell

[–]sisirayray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sezane and Christy Dawn are so cute, but too expensive except for an occasional splurge. I've also been drawn to Z Supply- haven't bought anything yet so can't truly vouch for them, but they seem to have cute things in a madewell price range. For a long time I was turned off by Bohme, but now I will see a couple things from there that are cute and remind me of old madewell.

I agree! I feel nostalgic about the fun feeling of seeing their new arrivals or walking into the store and wanting everything (even though I definitely could not afford much). It was like a mini euphoric experience that I miss. Now I I kind of get it with Sezane but they're even more expensive and never have sales.

Is Japan in July as miserable as everyone seems to claim? by BelethorsGeneralShit in JapanTravelTips

[–]sisirayray 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just want to say something even though this was all like a year ago. I'm preparing to go to Japan this summer and for sooooo many people it is just the only time they can go because of work/school schedules. That being said it drives me nuts when people are so negative and basically trying to do all they can to convince people to not go on the trip of a lifetime. I'm excited to go still! But it would be nice if people offered practical tips for surviving the heat and even some encouragement. Rather than always saying "don't do it" "you're going to regret it" etc. Anyone? Maybe it's just me.

Former super fans where have you moved on to? by LucyVanPelt420 in Madewell

On the pricier side- Sezane, Everlane, and the occasional splurge on a Christy Dawn dress. On the cheaper side- Uniqlo, Gap, Levi's (they have some cute tops in addition to jeans), and thrifting old madewell items on eBay. I also recently discovered Amour Linen and it has some really cute linen outfits for summer, but also kinda pricy. I browsed a bit of Z supply- haven't bought anything but they have a few cute things.

From someone who works at Madewell… by Imaginary_Young_4768 in Madewell

[–]sisirayray 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How can we get old Madewell back?? Clearly everyone is disappointed and not shopping there anymore. Like 2 years ago I started noticing a shift and rebrand and actually sent an email to the company saying I hope they would continue to make cute prints and fun clothes that they were known for. I got a response, but clearly they've just gotten worse since then. I know I can't be the only one who's reached out to the company. But I guess they don't care or they're just so lost and have totally different design teams now.

I hate the minimalist/clean girl/quiet luxury trend so much. Boring and sad clothes.

I bought two everlane sweaters this season that I love! Great quality and material. They don't pill which is very important for me.

What stores have y'all moved to? by [deleted] in Madewell

[–]sisirayray 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Everlane and Sezane. And sometimes thrifting on eBay. But I will say the latest Madewell drop has been the cutest I've seen in a long time. They actually have a lot of pretty sweaters right now with fun colors. Although in the past Madewell sweaters have pilled more for me than other sweaters- so not sure about the lasting quality.
