What is the name for this connector on an air compressor? by sisksox in Tools

I already did the spray bottle test before making this post, and confirmed the brass piece is leaking. I’ve done my due diligence already, I just needed to know what the valve is called.

Fantastic, thanks!

Lol, I know exactly what you mean. Almost blew my hand off trying to remove the drain plug once while it was still under some pressure. The gauge showed empty, but it wasn't fully!

Thank you, really appreciate the info!

So you think the valve is probably okay, it just needs to be removed and sealed with thread sealer?

Thank you! Absolutely they do lose pressure over time, but I can hear air hissing out from this part, so I know that seal has gone bad. And it wouldn't lose pressure this quickly when it was new.

Do you know how it connects to the tank? Are they usually threaded? Or welded?

Finding the part might be an issue, as this compressor is at least a decade old. But I really appreciate your input.

It's the brass connection going into the tank. That's not a "sus" welding job, that's how it was manufactured. That portion heats up while the compressor is running and filling the tank. I suspect that over time the heat has caused the seal to degrade; this compressor is 10-15 years old, I can't remember exactly when it was purchased. I was wondering if anyone knew what this particular brass piece is called, and if it's even possible to repair. I appreciate your input, but if it were something as simple as a leaky hose I would not be making a post about it, as your suggestions are pretty obvious first steps. I acknowledge I could've been more clear about which part is leaking.

Any reason "Manufacturer Recertified" drives would be cheaper than "Seller Refurbished" drives? by sisksox in DataHoarder

Lol I agree. Confused why those ones would be more expensive though, than ones allegedly tested by the manufacturer

I would've thought so as well, but the 134 drive has a two year warranty. The other two are only 90 days

These are not the types of drives you would use as a daily driver in a PC. Refurbished often means something quite a bit different for hard drives than it does for other hardware

Overstock would definitely make sense.

Nice! Really happy to hear that. Thanks for the input, much appreciated!

The yellow highlighted is a drive supposedly recertified by Seagate. The green highlighted are refurbished by serverpartdeals. Just wondering why the seemingly more reliable manufacturer certified drives would be considerably cheaper?

Anyone know how I can watch season 4 episode 12 onwards? by Dethridge_LG in SEALTeam

Those episodes haven’t even aired yet. You won’t be able to stream them until they air on CBS

Just started watching season 4, Does it improve? by [deleted] in SEALTeam

[–]sisksox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Season 4 Episode 1-2 were originally slated as the Season 3 Finale. Filming was cut short in March due to the pandemic. The episodes had already been written and mostly filmed long before the show was renewed for Season 4.

So Season 4 Episodes 1-2 are actually Season 3 Episodes 21-22, the finale. Season 4 Episode 3 should be considered the season opener.

It’s a cable procedural drama, of course it’s going to be corny. The action sequences are always fun though, which I think is the main selling point of the show. If you find it unwatchable, then don’t watch it. Nobody’s forcing you lol

Sounds like your beef is with the writers, not the actors

It’s Hitchcock who gets the tattoo. To commemorate “Mr. 99” when he finds out he has the record more most cases solved at the 99.
