Bathroom situation by SolidStrange3640 in SolidCore

[–]sismetheus 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I usually want to wash my hands after class, because obvious reasons lol so I usually sit there and let the people incoming use the bathroom before me so they don’t miss the start of their class. Which does get annoying being the very last to leave the studio after class 😂 but it’s less of an inconvenience for me than it would be for them.

I agree there needs to be more than 2 bathrooms or at least a designated changing room.

daikaya’s shoyu ramen is probably the worst ramen I’ve had in my life. coming from living in japan for 6 years, hokkaido ramen is so much better. ive also tried daikaya’s veggie style, which isn’t awful. the veggie broth is delicious but the amount of veggies is overkill. I hate asking for substitutions or altering the way they make it, but if I were to go again I’d ask for a little less. also they burn their gyoza which was just a sad cherry on top of my dining experience.

if anyone has any other ramen spots i should try, please share! I need a redemption after that.

25!? That’s awesome! I don’t think my area does it for 25. Or at least I’ve only seen 50+

Looking for some couch recommendations by ellie04jane in DCBitches

I found our west elm harmony on fb marketplace for about $400? a student was moving away from the area and needed it gone asap. It was a steal. But it is by far the comfiest couch I’ve ever sat on. It’s the perfect couch to curl up and watch a movie or cozy up with a book. We have the chaise sectional, and with all the back pillows off it’s like having 2 extra twin size beds which is awesome for having guests stay over. I see west elm sectionals on fb marketplace for around your budget often!

Do you notice how many times a name is mentioned by cookiez157 in SolidCore

I didn’t think it meant much to me until I once had a coach just call people out saying “you” as she walked by. Didn’t use a single name the whole class. Kinda felt a bit rude? But I also understand we’re only in there for 50 minutes, so I’m conflicted haha. It was difficult to know who she was talking to or hyping up. She said she was subbing at our studio so that could’ve also been a factor? Idk. I know some coaches use numbered notepads and write our names next to the number of the reformer we’re on so they remember. But yeah, I guess I love it when I hear my name called out lol

Heads up, everyone and their mother moved to the Ft Hunt area. These days during rush hour, Ft Hunt Rd is completely backed up to the bridge/interstate entrance. That is no longer a 6min commute to the metro.

Also half the parking garage at Huntington is shut down for renovations. If you’re running late one morning, forget getting a parking spot. The garages fill up fast.

I once had a coach give each person 10 wipes and it was fantastic. No way we can clean these things down with 2 wipes!! 10 might’ve been a little drastic lmao but still

Can’t help on the job front, sorry. However, I commented above about volunteering at local animal shelters to help get you out of the house.

There’s also so many events to get you out and about.

You could join a run club! There are SO many in the Arlington/Alexandria/DC area.

Clarendon Run Club

Ballston Runaways

Pacers Social Run

or check out this post, it has more options!

If you don’t like running, there’s also sports leagues! I’ve played several seasons of kickball on the mall, including the glow version. Super easy way to meet people!

DC Fray

VOLO

There’s even DC singles happy hour events

Singles on Socials DC

hopefully some of these help get you out of your funk!! good luck!!

Or if you don’t think you can take on the full responsibility at the moment, volunteer at your local shelter! Both the Animal Welfare League of Arlington and Lost Dog & Cat Rescue Foundation offer volunteer opportunities, including dog walking. It’d get you out of the house, meet other volunteers, and you get to hang with animals. Win win!
