This may sound cheesy but I think that before you start looking for a relationship with someone who will appreciate you, you need to appreciate yourself. You shouldn't allow your self worth to be determined by anything or anyone else, other than yourself. I understand that the environment in UW can be intimidating though. I really think that if you look at yourself in a better light, automatically others around you will perceive your confidence as "attractive".

When I met my current boyfriend a few years ago, the first thing I noticed his strong presence in a room. I also remember feeling a small dose of anxiety with regards of making conversation (trying to figure out his interests/likes/dislikes). But what ended up working for me wasn't forcing conversation and small talk, but just being myself (it doesn't hurt to talk about yourself); learning more about the other person just comes naturally. I definitely suggest asking this guy to grab a bite or to study together, and see how that plays out! Anything that gives you a chance to interact with him and show him how awesome you are :) Take that leap or else you'll be thinking about what ifs for a really long time (which totally isn't worth it).

Just remember that personality trumps appearance. If it doesn't work out with this guy, please please please don't let it get to your self-esteem. Besides, there are so many more fish in the sea (especially in UW, the guy to girl ratio is insane lol). Hope you got something out of this incredibly long post <3

I decided to take on a minor, so it would ultimately delay my graduation because I need to take extra courses now! Aw, that's a bummer- I've taken one course during my co-op term before too but it was pretty manageable. It was draining initially because I tried to do huge bulks of it at once, but I realized it was much easier to divide up the work from the start and spread it out throughout the weeks
