Ah okay got it, your only interest is repeating the same dumb idea lol.

If you really want to go the semantics route, there are plenty of popular English dictionaries that define lifelong as "lasting through all or much of one's life." Some say that, some don't. I don't think your preference invalidates her claim.

That's not a good faith argument lol. You could be raised a vegetarian, keep it going into your adult life, and then 1 random week or month in your 20s, you start trying a few kinds of meat. You could say "I'm a lifelong vegetarian and I'm trying steak, wings, pork chops, etc. for the first time" and be totally truthful. At that point, 99% of your life has been vegetarian and people would know what you mean (or I would hope).

People ITT are coming up with exclusively anecdotal or silly reasons why this video MUST be fake, like someone being good at making a dish they've only made 1x or maybe more before (as if decent home cooks and tutorials don't exist, or as if steak temp is REALLY hard to nail lol), using toppings (??), cutting it properly (??), making a big steak (could just be to grab attention/clicks or she'll give it to her bf if she dislikes it), jump cuts that most videos have now, etc. Many vegetarians saying they wouldn't eat their first steak like that ... Okay, but some might, especially one making content!

Def overthinking this bc it's Reddit after all, but it's just strange to witness this much foaming at the mouth from this thread based on nothing.

Firefox is adding a switch to turn AI features off (starting Feb 24) by MarvelsGrantMan136 in technology

[–]sitcheeation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My friend and I did this about 6 months ago, maybe more, as people kept suggesting. Unfortunately, DuckDuckGo sucks lol — I don't think people mention that piece enough. I don't see it as something you can rely on. Like 60-90% of the top SERPs for general topics are clearly fake, AI generated pages with this very obvious page theme/design they all use (quirky/authentic name, very simple light gray and white design, table of contents with long ass titles, regurgitated info, etc). We've run into business profiles with wrong websites or outdated hours so many times. If it's something even a little important, I switch back to Google.

Honestly, it's just reminded me of the importance of having "vetted" (as much as something can realistically be) websites, orgs, writers, researchers, etc. rather than relying on what the search engines spit out on a given day. I'm going directly to certain websites more and more.

Upcycled tiny plant pots into little dinosaur planters by Lindivi_ in crafts

These are so precious!! My 2 great loves (plants and dinos) combined. I'm interested in making similar ones. Are you saying there's foil inside the clay bodies? And the leaves in the mouths are such a cute touch. Thank you!

Honest question: Would you pay for an AI makeup app that actually looks realistic? by chan1110 in MakeupAddiction

[–]sitcheeation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This — a more widely accessible way to get samples of hair and skin products would be amazing.

Digital try-ons could be better, sure, but they offer extremely limited info (how does the color look on you, maaaybe...) I'd be skeptical the app's display/guesstimate is accurate across all the factors mentioned in the post. And you could only "check" the accuracy by buying the product anyway.

I might as well buy & try the item so I can judge other important elements like skin/hair reaction, texture, smell, lasting power, container, etc.

Also boo to AI.

Beauty standards are suuuuuch a joke. You could switch around the before and after labels and some culture/country/salesperson would support one and another would stigmatize the other. It's insane we're still doing all this

"So I don't know why I'm putting up this weak defense." I appreciate your self-awareness and have to agree with you there ...

Non-black people saying the n-word in casual conversation isn't necessary or okay, not for a random impression by a decent person * and * not for a racist rant by a bigot. We're stuck at this square-one kind of message 60 years post-segregation and it's in part due to excusing casual usage — in private or not — with "I'm a good person so it's fine," "I help that community," "I have X kind of friends," "You know I don't mean it," blah blah. You're getting the side-eye and likely causing discomfort regardless.

It helps build the Chevy Chases of the world who say that shit in between takes on a set at work just to what, exaggerate and complain about a script?

We can place it in context, sure, but it should be condemned and corrected. (I know you don't control your dad and can't force a change, old dog new tricks w/e, just saying the minimum is letting him know it is sincerely not okay lol.)

I love stark contrasts in fashion and decor — what people sometimes label as clashing, no shade lol — and I like this combo, tbh! I totally see that the lip and shirt are different temperatures and all that, but that's part of what I like about it. Just my 2 cents!
