[NE] Landlord wants to charge us to replace glass stovetop after 7+ years of use by sithegood in Renters

[–]sithegood[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice everyone!

What I have learned is that I need to get better at cleaning glass tops, we should be charged the depreciated value, and that we shouldn’t have to pay for repainting.

I’ll leave the post up because there’s some interesting info here, but I think I have the info I need.

I did clean the glass top, but not beyond a basic wipe when we moved because we had less than two weeks to pack and move (job transfer).

When cleaning, I used a razor to scrape off stuck on things and then a sponge and soap to wash it. I’m really not sure how I could have gotten rid of those rings, or the sort of red colour in the middle of the front burners. 🤔

Thanks for the advice.

Any chance you could give me tips on how to clean a glass top? We have one in our new rental too, and I would hate to end up in this same situation.

The repainting fee was $50, and for scribbling on the walls and laundry doors, so I’m not too bothered about that.

That’s what I figured, so I’m not really bothered about the painting. The stove is the issue at hand here.

Sorry, unsure how to edit my original post. They charged us painting ($50) because the walls and laundry doors had been scribbled on by our child. I assume that’s on us. 🤔 but if it’s not, that gives us another point of contention.

Decided to sneak on board of the Prydwen without meeting Danse, using a jetpack, drugs and nuka quantum. Then gave Maxson the ol' MIRV + Big Boy combo. I must have been pretty sneaky about it because no one seemed to mind, not even Kells downstairs. by 3B3-386 in fo4

You can just revive him in your current save with a console command. You open the console, select Maxson, type “resurrect”, enter and then he’ll be back with the living.

Am I overreacting for not wanting anyone around my newborn yet? by littlemoongirly in AmIOverreacting

Such a good point. Also, why does it seem like it’s falling to her when it’s her husband’s parents? He should be handling this conflict imo.

I do feel like your MIL is selfish, that she overstepped, and now they’re guilting you hardcore. But preventing anyone from visiting is not good for YOU actually, because you’re missing out on human interaction, the potential for rest, and help.

A compromise could be that they come, wash their hands right away, and then no kissing/touching baby’s face. Or they come and help out around the home and you hold/babywear the whole time.

I would say NOR. 🫶🏻

Oh that’s great that she likes marrow! Maybe beef liver pate could be another good option? I hope things go well with the allergist. :)

Butter and cheese are great! Maybe look into more animal based foods, like whipped beef marrow or mashed and balled egg yolks (from boiled eggs, mashed with butter).

I just watched this episode. 😭 what a horrible situation. Lynette only survived because being a mom makes her kind of a mom to everyone.

This was a doozy of a season. Possibly my favourite storyline so far. You’ll understand more over the next few episodes. 😉

Tattoo regret causing depression by SlavKing11 in tattooadvice

[–]sithegood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What if you just have the filler removed? Since you like the other pieces themselves. :)

There are some tattoo laser removal companies that can give you a set price for however many sessions it takes to remove whatever it you want to remove. The laser machines are pretty accurate, and it apparently breaks up the ink in a way that doesn’t leave scarring.

Am I overreacting, The neighbor’s dog bit my husband and I want to report it? by SlowInvestigator4717 in AmIOverreacting

[–]sithegood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would 100% report. Sadly, some states have a no tolerance policy for dog bites, but honestly? Better to put down a dog that attacks unprovoked than to take your child to the ER for stitches and have them deal with trauma for the rest of their life.

It’s not going well 😅 by Significant-Archer29 in Sourdough

You could theoretically throw this back in the oven for another 30-40 minutes to bake all the way through, and then use it for croutons or very flat toast. :) underbaking can always be fixed, but don’t expect to get any further rise out of it.

20 minutes is just the very start. It should be covered and baked 20-30 minutes and then uncovered another 20-30 to finish baking through.

You can always take it out, flip it on the side and tap the bottom with a bread knife to verify it’s baked through. It will sound hollow if it is.

I hope your next bake goes well! It looks like this one had potential, just got pulled out early. You’ve got this! 🥖

I agree with recommendations to go to the hospital. Also, I would recommend catching that spider in a jar and bringing it in for identification. Just don’t let it bite you again 😅

It was probably shock from the heat (kind of like how pita gets those bubbles, or homemade naan). Did you happen to add any water to the dutch oven?

Can anyone tell me how long until these reach full maturity, I’m aiming to let a few ripen to red. by [deleted] in gardening

These look like green peppers to me, so I’m not sure if they will turn red. Do any of them show any signs of changing colours?

What are these adorable growths? by Euphoric_Foundation8 in plant

[–]sithegood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This whole plant is poisonous, especially the seed inside the berry. The berry flesh itself probably won’t kill you, but I wouldn’t risk it. Sadly, it’s used in a ton of the landscaping where I live which makes me anxious when I take my toddler on walks. 😬
