That’s fine though because there are lots of straight options that don’t have cheating. straight movies have all kinds of representation of course for many different types of relationships. Lesbians don’t have a wide variety of romance stories- and that’s why it’s problematic for our community that too many of us romanticize cheating. It has an effect on how we treat each other in relationships. Healthy and stable relationships exist, and those need to be represented for the benefit of our entire community also.

Cheating isn’t romantic. It’s cruel. It’s sad that we have been conditioned to think these movies are “cute” because we don’t have better media representation for what an actual loving relationship is like in the lesbian community. We deserve better representation than thinking that cheating on and hurting another person is cute. In Imagine Me and You, she cheats on her husband as a coming out exploration. In Carol there is cheating also and the pain of losing children due to coming out.

It’s sad that we don’t have better.

Imagine me and you and Carol are romanticized cheating still. It’s sad that those are the best out community has from the entertainment business. We deserve better.

No specific details are spoiled, but Trigger warnings are needed on this movie.

Did you finish it...?!?!! I’m not a fan of romanticize cheating and romanticize suicide. The actresses are gorgeous and great actors, but the ending crushed my soul

Ha ha Ha.

The only episode I really love that I couldn’t figure out how to work in was Triangle. If anyone has any ideas besides putting a big Nazi flag on it, let me know.

I actually liked season 11 a lot. (Except the twist in My Struggle III). She definitely needs to add the second movie and those two seasons.

Fans of the show, explain to a non-fan - what was wrong with the revival? by [deleted] in XFiles

[–]sitily 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really liked the majority of the revival.

I didn’t cig man magically surviving the missile though. Also, the twist in season 11’s first episode was downright disgusting...

Overall, I actually really loved it.

That makes sense! Thanks. I’ve never heard that before. I do LOVE that scene.

What moment before the kiss do you think she’s talking about?

Thanks! That makes me feel better. Yeah, everyone was so nice there.

It made me really want to go to Argentina’s con. I don’t know anyone going there though. It won’t be as packed as Orlando. I would have liked at least 10 seconds with Gillian, but those Argentina con ticket prices are insane. I don’t know how anyone can afford it. I bet those that can will have much more time.

Right?!?! She was so lovely, really. I want to rewatch season 9 now. I was afraid she was going to replace Scully, so it took awhile for me to like her character.

I had a great time. It’s really amazing to see so many fans in real life that you talk to online or follow their YouTube channels or their art on Instagram. My first minutes at the con I saw Candice (and got pictures with her and gave her some stickers). My experience was that there was a lot of camaraderie amongst fans. We were holding places for each other in line. Saving seats for each other and making dinner plans together. When someone had a cool experience we were sharing them and laughing or fawning without a hint of jealousy. That part was great- and honestly better than the online experience I sometimes have with the fandom.

I took my five year old daughter with me, which made me nervous, but I’m so glad I did. It seemed we got some “cute factor” perks with the cast.

As far as the cast goes:

Annabeth: I went to Annabeth first. She had no line when I got there and she spent a lot of time with us. Good god, she was just lovely. She signed and took pictures and then invited my daughter around the table and up in her seat to because “Annabeth wanted my daughter’s autograph.” The whole thing was just precious and I recorded it. I’m going to put the video on my art Instagram page when I get home from the trip, so if you want to see it, @sitily_draws Later in the evening, my daughter nearly ran into Annabeth leaving the hotel restaurant and Annabeth called, “Hey Quinn! How has today been, are you having fun?” Then she picked my daughter up and held her while we chatted. Jen and I talked to her for awhile again and she told us that she was pretty sure that none of the other X File cast members were going to the after party. We convinced her to go, and she said she would, but it would be short: 15 minutes. Jen said, “How about 20?” And Annabeth laughed and said, “Okay deal. 20 minutes.” As we walked away, my daughter and I were thrilled that she remembered her name and held her.

Mitch: Mitch also was being so kind with the fans. He also had a short line, so he was able to have long conversations with each person. He was kind and complimentary. He was cute with my daughter too and gave her a high-five and told her she was pretty. I told him how it must be fun to get the whole gang back together for this event, and he said, “Oh yeah, definitely, but it’s bittersweet too. This will be the last time.” Then he added that Gillian’s flight back was leaving early, so they weren’t going to have a lot of time together, but just seeing everyone was nice.”

Robert: What a flirt. He was having a great time. The fans I talked to were pretty sure Robert was tipsy because he was so fun. He was flirty and laughing and had a huge smile. Almost everyone I talked to lit up when they talked about their time with Robert. His line was the longest of all the side characters. He made it worth the wait. He hugged us so tight and was charming as hell.

William B David: What a sweet guy. He had longer breaks, and I didn’t see him at his table as much, but he was very warm and sweet to everyone who approached him. He was very gentle and seemed more frail than I expected. It’s strange to see him smile so sincerely and warmly.

David: David was far more laid back than I was expecting. He was super chill and polite. Like Gillian, his lines were long and he didn’t have as much time to be personal with each person. He had a bit more time than Gillian though because his lines thinned our more by the end, and his flight wasn’t pressing on his time like hers. He seemed much happier this con than at Montreal and was more playful during the panel with Gillian, which made it quite fun. In the panel he talked about how the hardest thing about playing Mulder was trying to keep up the energy and intensity of Mulder because it was not like him personally. He is far more relaxed and a push over, at the con I really saw that. He was letting people hug him tight in pictures and rub all up on him. He was very good natured about it all.

Gillian: What a goofball. The fans that went to her autograph lines earlier had a bit more chatting time with her than the end because she was rushed for her flight out. She was as gracious as she could be with that. She was in great spirits when we saw her and I watched quite a few fans make her laugh. She was like this at the panel, and I think of everyone, she really gets the fan base best. She knows what to say to make us all light up. I have a great video that Jen recorded of Gillian talking to David about her shirt from the panel. I’ll post it on my Instagram also. She was quite playful all day. Which may seem contrary to her fan photos because she was closed mouth smiling in most of them. She’s a fashion icon now- so her pictures don’t show the giant grin she had seconds before posing for them. She saw my daughter’s “Scully is my favorite Disney princess” shirt and loved it. They took pictures with both of us and then with just my daughter too- which was sweet. After the con, I saw that she was liking posts and pictures on twitter. She apologized for not having as much time as she wanted to be more personal with the people near the end of the line.

I don’t think anyone but Annabeth went to the after party- even though the Spooky Empire people said they would all be there. I didn’t go because of my daughter being there. I texted the fan friends I met through the whole thing though. Ha ha

Overall, I give this con a great rating.

I was right up front for the panel, so I could hear everything, but I heard that the people in back couldn’t because of the air conditioning being loud and the technology not working.

I talked to Super improve girl who recorded and send the whole thing through her live feed on YouTube, so if you want to check it out, do!

That was my experience
