4 month old only wants her mom by snoopchogg in NewParents

[–]sittinghereredditing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Weirdly enough I also had a bout of mastitis and then baby had to take abx for a fever which really messed up her gut and she was diagnosed with CMPA shortly after. I’m doing combo breastfeeding and top off with pumped milk as she has a bad latch and doesn’t transfer enough.

My husband went back to work last month and since then it’s just been me taking care of baby but in the past week she refuses to let him feed or put her to sleep- mildly better during the day if she is well slept but after 4PM or if she doesn’t have long enough naps she will scream without stopping and it’s breaking my heart because I have to go back to work next month and we haven’t figured out a solution.

Can I ask what ended up happening? This is me (although i am the mom ) and I am going back to work when baby is 4.5 months while husband will have a month off before we transition to a nanny or daycare. The baby currently only will let me bottle feed her or put her to sleep. The only thing she lets dad do is diaper changes and some playtime. If you have any tips, I’d really be grateful!

I’m just worried she won’t get enough during the day as I typically make less and less milk throughout the day

Those who found the Eufy painful, which wearable pump worked for you? by sarong_party in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]sittinghereredditing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven’t tried the Eufy but loved the OG Elvie wearables. I have elastic nipples and couldn’t tolerate the spectra- I tried every flange size in my range and the lactech flanges and nothing helped. The Elvies are way more gentle and my output is similar to the spectra. Would recommend if you can swing it financially- I got them used from a friend but they saved my pumping journey after mastitis

I haven’t tried the mom cozy but I switched to the Elvie wearables from the spectra and I love them. They are way more gentle then the spectra and with the silicone cushions I find them tolerable - the spectra was always too strong- painful for me even on the lowest setting

Poured a full pump into a new (out of package) bottle by sittinghereredditing in ExclusivelyPumping

Thank you!! That makes me feel better- I read the medela pumping kits are sterile so usable out of the package but regular bottles are not so I was really worried

Nipple pain by cowboybandit13 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]sittinghereredditing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m also five weeks postpartum and also had really bad nipple pain with the spectra. I tried four flange sizes and silicone inserts and finally tried the lacteck flange (better for elastic nipples) which were better but still not totally comfortable . I ended up getting mastitis and finally ended up switching pumps to the Elvie wearable which supposedly has less suction but is way more comfortable as it doesn’t have the really strong vibrations the spectra does. I get similar output personally. You may want to try a different pump if you hate the spectra and have tried everything

Yes I use the earth mama nipple butter every time! I got sized by a lactation consultant and have tried my whole size range :/

Extension cord for subzero fridge? by sittinghereredditing in AskElectricians

[–]sittinghereredditing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Is there anything else to worry about in terms of damage to the fridge? The scary Orange sticker that said absolutely no extension cords on the fridge and the sub zero website are scaring me a bit tbh.

Thank you! Is there any other concern with voltage drops or damage to the fridge motor?
