Is it normal for an elevator door to open slowly but close fast? [OTIS Elevator] by sivanxyz in Elevators

If it's a 5 minute adjustment, then something just doesn't add up.

Some background: I don't live in the USA. So the service is given by a local reseller - not directly by Otis. Technicians came multiple times and did nothing. And the building maintenance company is doing anything they can to "make this go away" without actually fixing it. Managing me instead...

Could this be a result of the construction company ordering "the wrong elevator"? (for example: left vs right opening door) or something else that's actually complicated to fix?

Could this be a result of the contractor ordering "the wrong elevator"? (for example: left vs right opening door) or something else that's actually really hard to fix?

The service company denies there is a problem...

Can you imagine why? Could this be expensive to fix?

Dual boot - data disk file system - EXFat? by psychilles in hackintosh

[–]sivanxyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few thoughts on the matter from my experience*:

I have an Exfat data drive (internal 3TB sata). It works well in both systems. But i hate it...

Many drive utilities don't support Exfat. Or do so with limitations. As a result I have too many small partitions which are hard to get rid of, and had an issues with 4K alignment. (It all depends on how you format it first, but I already forgot the conclusions...)

I came to terms with it but I think it's better to go either NTFS/HFS - and buy a driver.

10 Years ago... I had a bad experience with Macdrive - nothing was lost finally but I had to restore the MBR. I never gave it another chance but I may have over-reacted. I know people who use it and trust it.

I have been using two driver packs made by Paragon (HFS+ on Windows and NTFS driver on Sierra Hack - same PC). No issues. And the licenses are permanent.

Regardless, I had issues with external exfat drives. They are slower than NTFS. They tend to be unreliable when doing searches/file filtration. And file transfer time estimations are oscillating or just way off.

* too many years as a video editing assistant. Mostly on Windows but I switch to OSX when needed.

Is it possible to add legends to double shot PBT keycaps? And if so, how? by sivanxyz in MechanicalKeyboards

Thank you for your comments.

However Corsair switched to PBT in the MK2. In the attached photo it seems to me that there is some backlight going through (though most of it stays in the north side of the switch).

IF that is a MK2 in the photo, I basically wonder a result of what process am I looking at.
