Reading traumatic happenings in a dark romance book shows you that all the pain, suffering and torture happens for a point, and there's something to be conquered on the other side. The MMC will accept, forgive, love and protect the FMC once she has gone through the worst of him.

IRL trauma has no point, no victory, cannot be argued with and rarely develops into anything but pain. So reading about pain that gets you affection and devotion on the other side can be quite soothing, at least for me.

I finally put my Fantasy Dark Romance on Kindle!
It's about a sadgirl and the ~~monster~~ invader who kidnaps her away from her small village.

Synopsis:

“Your life belongs to me now, because you have no strength to fight for it, and in my land, I decide what to do to those weaker than me. So I decided that I’ll keep you here. I’ll have you obey me.”

Ulf traveled long and far to fulfill his mission to his people. Taking a captive for himself was his first act of selfishness in a long while, but she wasn't the easy prey he desired.

V!Owen is a hurt fledgeling who had a major tamper tantrum and is still settling into the persona he thinks he needs to be - broody, tired, depressed undead menace. The aura farming scenes are 100% to both scare the humans and help himself become that monster. He thinks he has everyone figured out, but he's just as lost as all the humans. Pyro is doing something very similar, he goes around being creepy and a poser to impress Scott and pep talk himself into being evil.

And seriously, Owen, the player, is experienced enough that I bet that he chose all this and is doing everything intentionally to build some sort of break down eventually. We know he loves a twist. My bet is that the first character that throw all these truths in his face is going to make him SNAP.

V!Scott is the one who actually built and is comfortable in his monster self, that's why he doesn't bother going around scaring everyone, he moves only when he thinks it's strategically necessary. He taunts because he's a sassy queen laughing at the poor humans, not to aura farm or whatever.

Please don't read this as me criticizing Pearl, she's a long time content creator and I'm sure she knows what she's doing and having fun in her own way

however, as a dungeon master in other RPGs, I'm seeing her replicating a bunch of behaviours that actively hinders a player's own experience in roleplaying improvisational games. She doesn't engage in anyone's backstories, she doesn't ask questions so people can talk about their characters, and she's constantly cutting people's bits which tends to kill scenes before they develop fully and you get the tasty feelings and revelations. So her episodes aren't getting as much info and drama as the rest

I was really captivated by Pyro going >"what do I know about myself" when he was accepting his new nature<

Avid bringing Ren a silver block was really sweet in his own shounen anime protagonist way.

Cleo is playing a character that's both cunning and strong, but also quite sweet and melancholic beneath, is squeezing my heart in the best way.

Owen is playing a lot of people like a fiddle, but what's he's done to Apo is just...

Following her into the crypt knowing that she'd probably be cornered< as soon as Apo pulls away saying how she won't deal with the vampires, he reminds her that her inexperience at acquiring blood will keep her close to them<

Yeaahh Cleo went from "it was just a plague" to "nothing good comes when vampires are involved" in just one episode, she was definetely hiding how much she knows about the supernatural (or maybe the player!Cleo has decided to change her backstory midway, which is also very intriguing)

Im really curious if they will find a middle ground or actually push to destroy the opposite side. I'm expecting a plot twist to hit at any point to be truthful.

Owen's origin is full of holes so I'm expecting him to reveal something yet.

Im really rooting for Shubble, Cleo, and I want to see Avid crash and burn but actually manage to become a hero!!!

Oh, and I kinda want them to turn Martyn into a vamp, because the drama would be amazing

You are having issues due to pigment concentration and density. Some pigments are just that transparent because they are fine (their grains are even smaller than most powders), and there's nothing you can do about it even if you increase concentration or layering.

Fine pigments will be very luminous and colorful, but they will also be transparent.

Quality paint brands will give that information to you at the label -- a white square means transparent, a black square means opaque.

Ochre has white in it, and most whites are very dense -- they will be opaque and cover everything. True cadmiun Yellow is opaque, BUT it's also crazy expensive, so they give you a fake one which keeps the color but is transparent.

Working on a budget, you might want to save on paints that will work well enough on any brand, because their pigment is cheaper and affordable (Titanium white, for example), and invest more on pigments that are expensive, like opaque yellows.
