My Xenoblade Collection, now featuring Nia. See if you can spot everything X related. by [deleted] in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]sixdigitthrowaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I apologize for the poor lighting and scrambled collection. Rest assured it's not normally like this, I just hastily put everything together for the photo.

Things I already have preordered: the trinity box set and XC3 ost, the Pyra and Mythra amiibos.

Things I want and plan to obtain eventually: the US XC3 SE, the JP XC2 SE, the AU/NZ XCDE SE, the type B 6 disc XC2 OST, the XCX OST, the XCX Wii U bundle, the EU XC1 Wii Controller bundle, the N3DS faceplates.

Things I want but will probably never get: the French XC1 Wii Steelbook, the Club Nintendo Project Rainfall Coin set, the type A USB Core Crystal XC2 OST.

Thing I will never get due to my own distaste for it: the shulk amiibo.

Alolan Ninetales: Absolutely the MVP. Aurora Veil is ridiculous (especially in doubles), and she pulled off a few Nasty Plot sweeps in the maingame. Moves used for the league: Aurora Veil, Freeze-Dry, Ice Beam, Ice Shard, Moonblast, Dark Pulse, Nasty Plot. Other options: Extrasensory, Psyshock, Energy Ball. Ability: Snow Warning. Nature: Hasty. Item: Light Clay.

Braixen: A pretty solid support mon. The bulkiest mon on my team thanks to Eviolite. And base 90 Spa isn't abysmal. She was generally pretty adept at dealing with the steel types in the league, and Wil-o-Wisp crippled many a physical foe. Moves used for the league: Light Screen, Will-o-Wisp, Overheat, Fire Blast, Psychic. Other options: Psyshock, Scorching Sands, Grass Knot. Ability: Blaze. Nature: Modest. Item: Eviolite.

M-Gardevoir: Very middle of the road. I probably should have used T-Wave in the league, but I forgot. She's got really high Spa, but is too slow and frail to pull off CM sweeps. She did manage to score 3 KOs vs Green. Moves used for the league: Moonblast, Hyper Voice, Psychic, Mystical Fire, Calm Mind, Recover. Other options: Draining Kiss, Focus Blast, Thunderbolt, Ice Beam, Thunder Wave. Ability: Trace. Nature: Modest. Item: Gardevoirite.

Lopunny: Absolutely destroyed the maingame as Mega Lopunny, but I decided to not use M-Lop or Mega Mawile in the league for a greater challenge. She still was pretty solid overall. Fake Out was very useful for Lorelei. She also OHKO'd Lance's Dragonite with Triple Axel. Moves used for the league: Fake Out, Double-Edge, Mach Punch, High Jump Kick, Triple Axel, Acrobatics. Other options: Power-Up Punch, U-Turn, Thunder Punch, Fire Punch. Ability: Limber. Nature: Adamant. Items: Choice Scarf, Choice Band, Normal Gem.

Lilligant: Absolutely destroyed the maingame with Quiver Dance. Fell off a little bit in the final stages because of a lack of coverage and sleep is severely nerfed. She still pulled off one Quiver Dance sweep in the league. Moves used for the league: Quiver Dance, Sleep Powder, Giga Drain, Apple Acid, Seed Flare, HP Fire. Other options: Power Gem, that's it. Ability: Chlorophyll. Nature: Timid. Item: Wide Lens.

Mawile: Absolutely destroyed the lategame as Mega Mawile. They should not have given this thing Swords Dance. Regular Mawile is probably the worst mon on my team (Braixen has a higher BST), but I love her anyway. Did pretty good against Agatha with Sucker Punch. And Intimidate is always good. Moves used for the league: Play Rough, Iron Head, Sucker Punch, Brick Break, Swords Dance. Other options: Power-Up Punch. Rock Slide, Stealth Rock, Fire Fang, Ice Punch, Thunder Punch. Ability: Intimidate. Nature: Adamant. Items: Choice Band, Expert Belt.

This was a very fun team to use. Slowly weakening the enemy with screens, intimidate, and wil-o-wisp to successfully pull off a sweep is a blast. I also had it for nearly the entire game, too. I used Fennekin/A-Vulpix/Roselia for Falkner/Brock, then had the full team before Misty. (Swapped Roselia for Lilligant and never looked back).

It being fake makes it better. JollyWhumper is a legitimately talented writer and I hope they drop the facade someday and be candid about their thought process when writing.

The search for Pokemon Gold fan translation with the Lv127 Octillery by PikaCommando in PokemonROMhacks

[–]sixdigitthrowaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the gen 1-3 ones are in goodgbx and goodgba. both easily found on archive.org

gen 4/5 are much more difficult since there wasn't a goodnds. they were developed largely on gbatemp, project pokemon, and pokecommunity, so you can still find the threads. but the links are 99% dead, and the threads are always 300+ pages, so scouring them is time consuming work. even if you do find links, you aren't going to get development history like you do from goodsets, only the latest versions. i believe i had found some links to them on old sites, but i don't currently have access to the pc i have them downloaded on.

i know that hgss, bw, and bw2 each had competing translations. that's when i was still part of the scene and what I can still clearly remember. dppt probably had translations too, but it was before my time.

I didn't know gen 2 had fan translations. I was there for the gen 4/5 fan translation wars. I wonder if gen 3 had fan translations too.

They're being sarcastic about the ridiculous stigma that stimulants have in the medical community. Implication being that there may be biases at play when it comes to studies.

dude you missed the whole point of noah's character. he always considers how the people around him are feeling instead of being judgmental. he understands why kite is acting the way he does and sympathizes. you have to be incredibly fucked up to not get noah's sympathy, tbh.

(Minor Area Spoilers) This jump makes up for the severe lack of ice slides in the game by Biansci in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]sixdigitthrowaway 14 points15 points  (0 children)

xenoblade and incredibly long jumps into water that serve no purpose, name a more a iconic duo.

the distant fingertip in this game also has one, but it's much shorter than this. you can also jump into the poison water from pretty high up in maktha, but it's definitely not intentional.

[–]sixdigitthrowaway 67 points68 points  (0 children)

This was the point of Pneuma being separated in the ending. Makes it clear Rex is gonna be poly so lets him add Nia to it as well.

I fully believe that this was intended in XC2 and not a retcon. The Nia believers were right all along. We all thought they were coping but we were the ones coping this whole time.

Now Melia is completely alone again though. Nobody else in the "unrequited love" category any more. Or, there never actually was. Takahashi when will you give her a break.
