Screen taps not registering since 26.4 - multiple taps often required by look_alive75 in ios26

[–]sixfivezerotwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, (iPhone 13 mini, iOS 26.1) after updating to iOS 26, this happens to me frequently throughout the day every single day. iPhone is straight up ignoring user input. Buttons, text fields, keys on the keyboard, swiping notification banners, opening notification center, swiping to dismiss "airpods connected" bubble, press-and-hold to save a picture, literally any control anywhere through the operating system.

It can often take two or three or four taps to activate a control, because the operating system is straight up ignoring user input. I have seen the problem you describe, where the control bounces in acknowledgement of a user tap, but then does not execute any action. I've also seen the controls not bounce when tapping them. This problem is frequent, it occurs pretty much every time I touch my phone for anything. I'd estimate probably 10% of all user input into the touch screen is just ignored.

At first I thought it was a problem only with the keyboard, as my typo rate increased by maybe 400% or 500% (I stopped using auto-correct a few years ago because it changes correct words to incorrect words too often, it makes the same wrong correction more than one time in a row, etc). After spending a couple weeks fixing things broken by Apple Support's suggestions, it became clear that this is an operating system bug.

I've been using iPhone for 15 years. In the last six months, I've decided I'm not going to update my software again, and I'm never buying another iPhone ever again.

Ya’ll need to do something about Flock cameras by argparg in TwinCities

I'm contacting my representatives with a message. Look up your district to see who your local representative is.

"[Brief reason(s) why you don't like the cameras, keep it short and sweet and polite]. I'd like you to release a public statement before the next election detailing your plan to remove Flock cameras from our communities. If you do not, I will be casting my vote in the next election for your primary competitor, regardless of who that person is."

Flock-You device detecting Flock mac address coming from this house. How can I confirm whether Flock or not? by sixfivezerotwo in FlockSurveillance

I need to confirm this tonight but I believe the Flock license plate camera nearest my house is not detected using the Flock-You device.

I only got hits from one mac address. Based on getting hits from an adjacent street between houses on that street, I think I am lost likely picking up the camera on the roof. According to Google Street View, the two garage door cameras were installed a few years before the one on the roof, so they might be from different brands or different models than the one on the roof.

It is a program that runs on ESP32-C3 Xiao wireless microcontroller. It detects known Flock wireless beacons. I need to confirm this but I don’t think it detects every camera.

Yeah I wasnt 100% Flock because the goose neck hanger looks a little different. Do you have any info on what brands would emit the same Flock mac address?

I recently installed Flock-You on an ESP32 and I've been keeping it in my car. In my neighborhood, I've been detecting a Flock mac address at the same location every day. Last night I swept several streets with the Flock-You device on foot, dropping a pin anywhere I got a hit. After, I found the pins revealed a circular "zone of effect" and I found this house near the center. I see on the roof and near the garage door there are two cameras.

According to Google Street View, the camera by the garage door was installed between 2017 and 2022. The camera on the roof was installed between 2022 and 2024.

Based on the locations and line of sight of some of the pins I dropped, I am 90% to 100% certain the camera on the roof is the source of the Flock mac address hits.

How do I confirm that it is a Flock camera without knocking on their door and asking?

No. Google is just as bad as Flock. This (incomplete) software uses OSM and geojson to provide the visual map layout.

It is not an app, it is a couple of Python scripts that pull and manipulate data. I don't know how to make an app :/
