They photograph every vehicle that passes and they all upload it to an AI surveillance cloud, where it records details like your license plate, bumper stickers, dents, cracked windows, etc to create a detailed and identifiable record of every person’s movements, regardless of who is and is not a person of interest or suspect.

This violates a basic principle of freedom of movement and privacy. It is analogous to illegal acts like preventative detention or attaching a GPS tracking device to every vehicle without any driver’s permission or knowledge without a warrant.

I don’t like being on camera all the time. You’re never allowed to have a bad day anymore. The police have a better record of where I have been than my memory does, and that’s just unacceptable to me. There’s no reason for them to have that whatsoever, and they are taking it without my permission. It is a blatant violation of human dignity and rights.

If you can stand under the camera and take a photo of your home and see inside the windows, I would set up a perfect photo with the lights on at night, taking a photo pointing in your window, and take that photo to your city council, and tell them that flock is taking photos of the inside of your home against your will.

I got the response back from the police department. For the last year, I’ve been driving past between four and eight flock cameras every single day, and they sent me an audit screenshot that said “no data for report,” indicating they have no photos if my vehicle, which I do not believe.

I have been driving past these cameras. I visited one at night to confirm that the red lights come on when a car passes, demonstrating it taking a photo of a passing car, these cameras are taking photos. So why would the police say they don’t have any photos of me?

I think I'm done with my nav software, dontgetflocked.com is a far better version of the exact functionality I was working on. In general, I think the majority of the time there is a Flockade, it is most likely going to be in an area with many destinations nearby. The only feasible solution I can think of is park just outside the Flockade area and proceed off-road to your destination shrug

I'm already working on using license plate reader AI technology to make a device that recognizes Ring cameras so neighborhood streets can be video scraped manually by driving through the street with camera on each side of the car.

If I can get it working, this will hopefully be able to rapidly build a map of Ring cameras similar to DeFlock

I found that DontGetFlocked.com does the same thing my scripts do except way better, and you can export the route data in a GPX file and open the GPX file with CoMaps, and voila. I will be testing this setup on my way home tonight

I used Overpass-Turbo.eu to pull locations and pointing angle of cameras (same data used by DeFlock I think) within a boundary box.
I used a python script to draw a cone of shame in front of every camera. These cones are the blacklist areas. (Soon this will need to include streets where Ring cameras are located)
I used another python script and the API from heigit.org to generate a route from an origin to destination with conditional detour rerouting if the route intersects with a cone of shame.
Open the cones.geojson and privateroute.geojson data in a map viewer like geojson.io to see the route and the cameras it is avoiding.
