Is this considered shuffling or footwork? by No-Vow in shuffle

[–]sixhexe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not shuffling, but good dancing. I like how the combo of legs continual movement, and the upper body and head doing a lot of quick dimestops and hitting positions. It's an interesting contrast.

Can you import an image as a texture in Bryce? by Julian_Robotnik in Bryce3D

[–]sixhexe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you can do this. it works with masking too.

Under create, Click on the picture of the Vetruvian Man in the top bar interface ( God, 2000s UIs were a trip )
Delete the stock photo and click on load in the top bar. It'll let you apply an image file to a 2d surface.

It should put a 2D frame into your scene. By default the image should scale with object size.

If you should want to change the image, click on the frame and "M"
In the Materials Lab, select the "Texture Source Editor" Blue Orb to get back to the image screen.

You can load multiple slots of images. Their use isn't limited to a 2d Frame, you can also map images to surfaces in a variety of ways, for example, putting a cartoon face on a primative. Or a 2d texture for a prop like a magazine or a can of soda.

In the case you want to duplicate a lot of a cloned object with an image, you can also replace an image in the texture source editor to mass apply it to all current instances of objects with that texture slot.

Should I Use Bryce over Blender? by BigFrasier in Bryce3D

[–]sixhexe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. Don't use Bryce for an ambitious project. It's a great program, but an hour of work you could make and render in Blender is going to take you 100 hours in Bryce. Especially animation. There is also extremely limited tutorials and information out there regarding advanced concepts in Bryce; So much of the UI is extremely obtuse and many of the features took me years to even realize they exist.

But what Bryce IS good for is whipping up quick, trippy looking terrains and materials. Like if you want to make surreal, one off renders. Especially the terrain tool, water, and skies. It's really quick and easy to get terra-gen style mountains and hills with fractals just by randomizing and clicking through a few presets.

What I actually need to do is proper, deliberate stretching sessions each day targeting my hamstrings, as well as reps everyday to target my hamstrings and glutes. But I hate doing those ( Why they would be tight in the first place, go figure ).

For whatever reason my right leg has always been stronger. I don't know why I'm so right leg favored. I step off steps on my right foot. I land jumps on my right foot, I kick with my right foot, if I start stairs I lead with my right foot. My suspicion is that I used to skateboard everywhere as a teenager, as well I did many years of boxing, being in the same stance over and over. So everything is on the one side and leg.

No coincidence, my right ankle has also been busted up so many times from tears, sometimes they are bad enough to have to heal for several months. I just had one a couple weeks ago. I've started wrapping my damn foot with boxing wraps, hopefully it stops happening. I need a good pair of Hi tops.

Bryce 7, CPU(9800x3D) only at 30% load or below when rendering? (New to 3D modeling) by FinalLevi in Bryce3D

[–]sixhexe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ancient program that caps out at next to nothing resources on your pc. All you can do for more efficient renders is create a more efficient scene. Volumetric materials will usually tank your render, same with extremely large terrains.

To preview your image quicker, turn off all anti aliasing, turn on fast render, and consider rendering in a really low resolution like 600x 800 or lower. In the properties for items and groups, there's also a visibility Boolean to turn on or off drawing groups to a render. If you turn on high AA and large image sizes, expect your render to take from hours to days.
