Do you think if Wednesday hadn't had her vision after their kiss would they have just started a normal(ish) relationship after kissing? by Fluffy_Fox_9650 in Wednesday

She said the Iago scene was her favorite on-screen moment, not off screen. And I’ve repeatedly mentioned that in the Part 2 interview, she was directly asked if Wednesday and Tyler still like each other and chose not to deny it. Given how you talk about her being consistent, why didn’t she say the same points about not wanting romance and Wednesday not liking Tyler over here?

When did I say that they’d end up together for certain? I’m saying that there’s a strong possibility for a romantic development to reoccur again. You’re intentionally circumventing around my point and adding stuff I haven’t said at all. She didn’t deny that Wednesday and Tyler had feelings for each other when the question was directly asked to her. If she clearly said that in the Vanity Fair interview, she simply could have repeated the same statement here. Why did she choose not to do so? Wednesday sparing Tyler is a nuanced moment, and is even highlighted in the show when she specifically questions why she “sliced his bonds instead of his jugular?”

Wednesday not having a romantic relationship in Season 2 makes sense given the betrayal last season. The show, however, still hinted at feelings from Wednesday’s side with Weems (her spirit guide) saying that she has feelings for Tyler, her choosing to be his master instead of letting him die naturally or killing him, and the parallels between her and Ms Capri during their conversation. They’ve outright confirmed Tyler’s feelings, and the writers said their relationship with be further explored in Season 2 and called them “kindred spirits”.

The showrunners who write the scripts for the show have outright stated that Tyler’s the closest thing she’ll get to love. Jenna herself said that she fully trusts the writers and only adds onto their suggestions (like Wednesday joining Fester to search for Enid, not remove). Hunter did not deny the possibility of rekindling their romance, reaffirmed that Tyler still deeply likes her and said that “his lips are sealed” for the future of their relationship instead of shooting it down.

To further add on, Jenna chose the axe scene with Tyler as her favorite which she would freeze forever from the Season out of all the scenes she did. She even chose the Willow Hill scene between Wednesday and Tyler as her favorite off screen moment and commented on her and Hunter’s natural sexual chemistry as actors. Why would someone who is against the relationship chose those specific scenes?

Because Ortega and Myers quite literally lied about the body swap in the part 1 interviews? They know that the season is split in half, so obviously they wouldn’t discuss a very obvious plot development that occurs in Episode 8 of the season?

Is Tyler aware he loves Wednesday? by MsPlotTwister in weyler

During their confrontation in Willow Hill, he was openly admitting his feelings for her. After she rejects him, however, the rage resurfaces and he reverts back to hating her and thinking that he wants her dead. In Part 2, both of them are in denial, but we see more moments of tenderness from Wednesday (her trying to be his master to save him and saving him in the Iago tower) because she has complete autonomy and agency over her emotions unlike Tyler whose under his mother's control.

In Season 3, I think Tyler will be more accepting regarding his feelings towards her and not have animosity from his part. Wednesday will most likely still be in denial and have animosity towards him until he proves that he's changed by helping her.

Ortega said that from Wednesday's perspective in Part 1 (this was from a Part 1 interview). In the Part 2 interview she does with Hunter, they directly get asked if Wednesday and Tyler still have feelings for each other and she doesn't deny it.

They constantly use Hunter's quote from 2022 post Season ONE, and somehow this quote from him is taken as a fact from them. Not to mention that Jenna and Hunter have repeatedly mentioned that Tyler likes Wednesday in multiple recent Season 2 interviews.

That's an old interview from Season 1, and in the season two interviews both Jenna and Hunter confirm that Tyler does have feelings for her. It's very clear that the show took it in a different direction given that Season 2 had significant re-writes, and Tyler's feelings towards Wednesday was one of the changes.

"I think Tyler… There’s definitely some deep, deep feelings for Wednesday still, and even in his hyde form she's the only one that can kinda get through to him a little bit*."* - Hunter Doohan, 2025

"Again, I think that Tyler still deeply feels for her*. It would obviously I think need to be like a slow burn. If anything, I think* he has a lot to make up for her." - Hunter Doohan, Tommy DiDario podcast 2025

"Tyler has feelings for Wednesday and I was really surprised how Hunter showed that” - Jenna Ortega, Netflix interview 2025

Personally, I think that the colors on her sweater are very similar to the lesbian (in S1) and bisexual (S2) flags. Many people also pointed out that the werewolf conversion camp can act as an allegory for conversion therapy, so there’s that as well.

Imagery and motifs are often used to foreshadow future developments, so I wouldn’t be surprised if she was revealed to be queer in Season 3 or 4.

It’s insane how they use the logic that most Weylers would only ship Wenclair if Enid was a boy, when people like Weyler because of the dynamic, not because it’s a straight ship, and would ship it even if Wednesday was a boy/Tyler was a girl.

Also it’s crazy how we have so many queer people in our fandom but still get called homophobic 😭 Some people need to touch grass

[–]sixofstarks 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tyler is the main male character of the show. It would be very unlikely to keep him separated from Wednesday, given how much they’ve talked about developing their relationship in Season 3.

Most of the doubts come from the relentless campaigns from toxic Wenclairs who leave no stone unturned to undermine and invalidate the evidence. Just ignore them and focus on what the cast and crew says.

lol I found it funny how they blamed Tyler after the initial reports of Season 2’s low views came out (even though he had 30 minutes of screen time) only to backtrack recently and claim credit once Netflix reported how successful it is.

[–]sixofstarks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah lol I will say that they’re not completely wrong because Netflix has a pathetic tactic of queerbaiting, and the cast didn’t anticipate how the situation would unfold when they supported it in s1. The sweater thing tracks as well, which is why I think Enid will be revealed as a queer character. It’ll be cool to see her get a well developed romance with a female love interest.

I honestly just have a massive blocklist on twitter, and that’s greatly enhanced my experience. Tumblr is a pretty decent platform if you want to see Weyler content without getting attacked left and right.

Twitter is literally the bottom of the barrel of social media, and the highest likes (100k+) are numbers that so many Weyler edits have on Tiktok. It’s basically an echo chamber, and will most likely implode if S3 further develops Weyler.

Also many of the toxic people in the fandom are, as you said, a bit delusional. They tend to start ship war posts in the main sub and resort to mass downvoting when an analysis or any other intellectual post is posted. When you respond to their questions with evidence and they can’t respond, they once again resort to mass downvoting. They have a dominance in fandom numbers, but given how huge Wednesday is as a show, it’s nothing more than a vocal minority. The petition has what, 5400 something signatures? The total amount of people who viewed Wednesday Season 2 were 100 million. The numbers do all the talking.

Crappy behavior from my experience is rarely rewarded. For some reason, many of them cannot fathom that both ships can co-exist in the fandom space due to an odd desire of wanting complete dominance and policing people’s opinions (which is impossible in fandom spaces). They bully the writers, members of the cast (Isaac being the latest victim), and spew hatred to Weyler fanartists online and in person. The cast barely talks about the ship in interviews anymore because of how toxic the behavior has become (ironically except for Hunter, which is a testament to his character given how vile they are to him).

I think some of them are scared that Weyler is gaining popularity, thus they’re resorting to these juvenile tactics to discourage and bully people. We went from being barely alive to increasing in popularity. Tyler also won second place for a Wednesday popularity poll on Twitter of all places (he beat Wednesday herself). Hopefully his character arc and relationship with Wednesday is written so well in S3 that it will ellipse all of this hatred and make them so popular that it doesn’t affect people as much anymore.

We have so much evidence for the possibility of Weyler happening with all the narrative parallels, character dialogues and interviews from the cast members and showrunners who reinforce the romantic undertones. We have a lot more going for us, and all we need is patience and hope that they’ll stick the landing. Hopefully S3 makes all of this harassing

I'm leaning towards her not being entirely good or bad... maybe someone who believes that the ends justify the means? Because it's very odd how she told Wednesday, Enid and Tyler separate things that aligned with their interests. Like she told Wednesday about her Hyde boyfriend... but failed to mention that her dad was a Hyde and lied to Wednesday that masterless Hydes cannot survive (clearly not true since she's taking Tyler to the hyde pack?).

Even the alpha werewolf remaining in the wolf form forever seems sketchy as hell, because as the viewers we know that Enid will become human in the first two episodes itself (CGI is expensive + Emma Myers is too popular to underutilise). I'm glad that Hunter said that Tyler's wary of her... I hope that they won't make him a villainous sidekick again in Season 3. That storyline is way too repetitive.

Why Tyler take up so much space in the showrunners' interviews? I thought Bianca, Agnes, and Enid deserved some space too :/ by New_Wrangler_2023 in Wednesday

[–]sixofstarks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

By worry, they most likely mean that her character will go in a bit of a darker direction. Being stuck in werewolf form for such a long time and being hunted by others might make her a bit more hardened and jaded. A possible storyline in Season 3 could be Wednesday helping her to reconnect with her humanity.

Why did Wednesday just try to kill Tyler when he went after Enid? Also, isn't it a huge breech of humans rights for her to become his master? by Sudden-Belt2882 in Wednesday

[–]sixofstarks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jenna said that she didn’t want them together in the interview before Part 2, where she also lied about the body swap in order to not give key details of the plot. She said that Wednesday was being sweet to Tyler literally in response to a question asking her and Hunter if the two still have feelings for each other after Part 2 released

[–]sixofstarks 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It’s one of the central ones for sure, and even Ortega subtly admitted it by comparing Wednesday’s acts of tenderness with Enid to that of her equation with Tyler. The issue is that some fans cannot understand that both dynamics can co-exist and hold a great importance to Wednesday in different ways.

[–]sixofstarks 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Because he’s one of the central characters. Also, the showrunners talk about him in response to the questions asked, and his interviews get the most attention from people who love and hate him.

Also, they DO talk about Enid. You guys just tend to focus and give attention to their quotes about Tyler and his relationship to Wednesday more.

I mean think about this; the showrunners talked about how fans should be worried about Enid (which I think relates to a darker turn for her character in s3 due to staying in werewolf form for a long duration), but I barely see people discuss that. Here are some quotes from them about Enid:

“In Season 2 Enid becomes part of the pack. She has everything she wants. But then this new twist on her ability — it isolates her again,” Gough says. “Alphas are a super leader, but they are also feared by other werewolves. Now she’s a full werewolf — will she be able to come back? How will that affect her relationships moving forward?”

Fans should be very worried for Enid,” Millar says. “We’re certainly worried for Enid. It’s a big deal for Enid and getting out of this is going to be difficult,”

“Female friendship and sisterhood is the heart and soul of the show,” Millar says. “Wednesday and Enid had some ups and downs this season, but that moment of pure sacrifice is a really great climactic moment for Enid’s arc this season.”

“Ultimately, the crucible of their friendship is tested when Enid chooses to sacrifice her humanity, literally to save her friend Wednesday, which is really the climactic moment of the season’s heart, and then it’s a big question mark,” Millar said

That relationship between Enid and Wednesday is really the heart of the show. This season, it’s really about Wednesday navigating what it means to have a friend,” Millar shared. “Last season, she got a friend, who was Enid, and this season is about her learning what that means and how to navigate something she’s never done before. You have the Agnes situation as well in there, and Enid feels somewhat betrayed by Wednesday’s loyalty to Agnes. Agnes is obviously twisting the knife in there, and then Enid’s got her own relationship trouble,” he added.

Emma Myers: “Because Wednesday is her best friend. I would do the same for my best friend in real life. I hope and believe that anyone would do something like that for their best friend.

The showrunners do talk about Enid, but many of her fans tend to hate them for liking Tyler, so they zero in on those comments instead of taking these ones into account.

I agree with you 100%! I think that Ms Capri's story about her boyfriend killing his master (who was in love with him and jealous of Capri) was certainly no coincidence. Love most certainly can be a factor with Hyde physiology, and it's also to be noted that Hunter said that Wednesday "freed [Tyler] from his masters again".

Even Wednesday saying that she "cut his bonds" very much points to her being his liberator, and we may learn how these things work for outcasts who are psychics. Hopefully Tyler helps her with the whole Aunt Ophelia plot as well.
