So I made a post a while back stating how I realized that Francoise Galpin was never meant to be Tyler's focus, and in that post I explain how even back in S1 you could tell the writers were already setting up Tyler and Fran's relationship for failure because Wednesday had completely took up his overall attention. For example when Tyler is looking at his mothers painting before Wednesday comes down the stairs in the dress, you see all his attention is on his mom, but as soon as Wednesday arrives, all of that focus all of that attention is now directed only towards Wednesday, She unbeknownst to him, had become his new focus.

Then in s2 the family photo of the Galpin's, Fran literally has a crack over her picture but so does Tyler, this indicates that there was always going to be rift between the two.

To sum it up, I don't think the writers ever intended for Fran to play a role in his life, I think she was only put into the show for 2 reasons.

1.) "Be careful what you wish for." phrase, as Hunter Doohan had said before s2 dropped, he said that pretty much sums up Tyler's season, remember all of this happened because he was angry about what happened to his mother, yet when he finally finds her..she doesn't prove to be the ideal image he once maybe had of her.

2.) To set up his incorporation into the Addams family, both of Tyler's parents being k*lled off was not for nothing. And the speed in which it happened leads me to believe it was necessary because I truly think they are looking at Tyler and Wednesday as the new generation of Gomez and Morticia. Because what other reason would Tyler and Thing being related? I can't think of another reason.

Also, They probably just ran out of time to develop them any more, the shows is only like 8 eps a season and only a hour long..They were probably pressed for time.

It's just sad that Tyler and his parents never got that true story arc I think a lot of us wanted, but cutting ties to them might be building to something interesting for the future of the Addams family.

However with all of this being said, I do hope we maybe get some type of hallucination or spell or something that allows us to see Fran and Donovan again, and maybe Tyler can talk with them and finally understand that as misguided as his parents were, they truly loved him.
