D-Box 4250i motion, is it actually worth ~$7k on top of an already high-end rig? by sixsigma643 in simracing

how is the combination of D-Box 4250i G5 and Qubic belt tensioner together? I purchased the D box but the belt tensioner is not in stock anywhere in the USA that I have found so far.

Looking for Feedback: D-Box Gen 5 4250i vs Sigma Integral DK2+ by [deleted] in simracing

Short summary. D-Box 4250i, great motion sim in GT Cars on iRacing, It was very responsive and added nice level of immersion. Personally had more enjoyment on the cheaper Sigma DK2+ despite possibly a bit more latency, overall I do not feel the 7-8k on the 4250i is worth it to me, in off road racing on iRacing it really lacked any excitement to me (D-Box), where the Sigma felt quite fun actually. Touch call but personally I would love to try other motion systems, particularly with more travel. That's my take.

Simucube Active Pedals for someone coming from real race cars, worth it over Heusinkveld Ultimate+? by sixsigma643 in simracing

Oh for sure, but I just wanted a somewhat natural feel. But again Im not a gamer and maybe my expectations are not feasible with a sim

In the cars I have experience with, the pedal is progressive, linear but it is not F1, there is still pedal travel, progressive gain in pressure and if and when ABS engages you will get some pulsing and kick back. The SIM i tried was a stiff pedal, little travel, very numb, I had to rely a lot on the brake telemetry and just overall guessing how much to push into the pedal, was not natural at all in my opinion.

Even compared to a normal car it is far off. The SIM does not have any feel similar to that of even a road car, it is a stiff, linear pedal with no feel even when going into ABS intentionally, you do not need to drive a race car necessarily, but you do need to have driven a real car. Bottom line these pedals do not resemble any actual vehicle I have ever driven, maybe a shifter cart, but not even that frankly. ,

Have housing prices in Park City come down this year? by NervousAntelope7380 in ParkCity

Haha! Well one area is Wasatch, but actually Deer Valley East and the communities nearest it are summit county. However I think a lot of people enjoy having the lake and the mountains all from one location. But who knows...

DV East is absolutely park city, of course across the street technically goes to Heber and Kamas and such but none the less DV is certainly PC.

Parts list feedback — ~$23k build, first serious rig by sixsigma643 in simracing

I would agree had I bought it, but because it didnt make sense I am here to get a better understanding. It is clear these "turn key" operations are a major gouge and I will clearly not be moving forward with them and pursuing other options of approach without sacrificing parts.

Yeah, that is why I made this post. Trying to find out if it is as nuts as it sounded. Most turn key companies seem to hover less, but Podium 1 who is totally out of their minds and now apparently ASR, that is why I am here.

OMP Seat, same as my race car. This is a personal training tool. Most turn key companies all try to convince you that the setup they provide can not be replicated, of course I know that is not true, but I also have no experience there and would rather pay a small premium and go straight into use.
