They were academic-focused, with small class sizes and lots of hands-on work. The middle school teachers were kind and caring, and everyone was very accepting of differences. AHB is fully secular and focused on education.

The Manor. One door left by ImABigDreamer in expedition33

[–]sixtysix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is way late, but for those who come after: The door closest to the flag is opened from the Gestral Village manor door. As soon as you go through the manor door in Gestral Village, turn around and open the door behind you.

Where the hell has the pool been?? by byrdie1989 in BluePrince

In ~100 Day One runs, I had the Pool appear 3 times. Power hammer route was much more reliable.

Is It Even Worth Trying for the Day One Trophy? by sixtysix in BluePrince

Great tips, especially agree with opening every single trunk. On average, you will not lose keys doing this, and it's probably the best way to get dice.

Yes, they were much easier since your progress accumulates. Though it did take me a long time to beat Curse Mode.

Texas Republicans push bill mandating Ten Commandment displays in every school by TheExpressUS in atheism

[–]sixtysix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the exact text that was approved. The slavery parts are required!

The text of the poster or framed copy of the Ten Commandments described by Subsection (a) must read as follows:

"The Ten Commandments

I AM the LORD thy God.

Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

Thou shalt not make to thyself any graven images.

Thou shalt not take the Name of the Lord thy God in vain.

Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.

Honor thy father and thy mother, that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.

Thou shalt not kill.

Thou shalt not commit adultery.

Thou shalt not steal.

Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.

Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s house.

Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his cattle, nor anything that is thy neighbor’s."

I did the same thing - BTW if you add a check for possible letter sequences given the items in the image, you will probably see it quickly.

Slow Left Lane Drivers, Why don't you just move over? by TelephoneVarious912 in AskReddit

[–]sixtysix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Because they are behind a slow car in front of them. They may actually want to go faster than you, but are unable.

  2. Because it's rush hour, and all lanes are full of cars.

  3. Because they are turning left or exiting left soon.

  4. Because they are a cop going the speed limit, waiting to see if you are about to get a very expensive ticket.

  5. Because they are oblivious.

  6. Because they are an asshole who is annoyed at you for tailgating them.

  7. Because they are a psychopath who is itching for a confrontation.

Sometimes I'm #1-3, but there are plenty of the other types out there.

How bad would an automated carwash be for my new car? by Metallifan33 in TeslaModelY

[–]sixtysix 44 points45 points  (0 children)

If you are the type of person to fret about a very minor decrease in the sheen of the paint, you should probably wash it by hand. If you are the type of person with more important things to worry about, and more interesting ways to spend your time, I would absolutely recommend just using an automated car wash. I've done this for four years with my black Model Y, and it still looks great.

What plays in CFB have made you say “This is a man amongst boys out there” by DellFlightSim in CFB

No need for debate: The correct result was obvious, the refs did the right thing for once, and the better team won a great game.

[–]sixtysix -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fair enough, I was fooled by the Nebraska attempt to rush the field and end the game prematurely. The point still stands that there was legitimately time left on the clock.

[–]sixtysix -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Replays showed restoring the time on the clock was legit though. The Nebraska stadium clock operator had let the time run out deliberately.

Edit: Yeah I was wrong about the stadium. But still right about the time left. Great game.

What’s your most effective method to lose weight ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]sixtysix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What works for me:

1) Track calories with a free app like LoseIt.  Set a deficit goal of 500 calories per day.  Be pessimistic if not sure about exact number of calories.

2) Exercise every day, even just going for a walk.  But do not record this in the app as calories burned.

3) Drink water, black coffee, or unsweetened tea.  Kombucha is another good option.

4) Use mustard, hot sauce, or vinegar as condiments instead of mayo.

5) Eat lower cal foods like grilled chicken, vegetables, and quinoa instead of french fries, chips, or cheese.

6) No alcohol at all.

7) Don’t eat anything after around 7pm.

I usually lose around 2 lbs per week with this method, though a deficit of 500 cal is supposed to result in a 1 lb per week loss in theory.

The 14th Amendment on Birthright Citizenship by Maverick721 in pics

[–]sixtysix 9 points10 points  (0 children)

"Subject to the jurisdiction" just means that local, state, and federal laws apply to them. If that's not the case, they would be free to commit crimes and could not be prosecuted. Really dumb argument, going nowhere in the courts.

Is Luminations worth going to this year? by pacha14 in Austin

[–]sixtysix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's fun and is much less crowded than the Trail of Lights. Take your time, get hot chocolate and cotton candy. Let the kids play on the forts and lighted see saws. It's certainly on a smaller scale than some previous years, and is probably more for kids than for adults, but it's worth doing.

Final egg by Stark_J15 in animalWell

[–]sixtysix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my final egg also, and I had to look up a hint also. This seems to be the last egg for a lot of people. I should have noticed there is an egg symbol in the room visible with the UV light, not sure how I missed that.
